Beauty Product Review: Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Cream

I obtained a free sample of Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising From the nivea.com website recently. I am always on the lookout for a good moisturiser since I have patches of dry skin, but I also have very sensitive, combination skin so I have to find one that doesn’t irritate or cause break outs.

Here’s the official description: “Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Cream for invigorated, smooth skin, with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E. Nivea Soft is a highly effective moisturising cream for every day use on face, hands and body. Enjoy a fresh moisture boost as Nivea Soft absorbs immediately into your skin and leaves it feeling sensationally soft, supple and invigorated. Skin compatibility dermatologically approved.”

I currently use Nivea Body Firming Lotion and I absolutely love that product, so I decided to give Nivea Soft a try. Especially with the offer of the free sample, I had nothing to lose except maybe a few days with irritated skin if things didn’t work out.

Nivea Soft felt like a thick cream, like a body butter consistency. I thought for sure it would leave a greasy residue but I was wrong. It spread thickly and absorbed readily into my skin. After just a minute or two my skin was a lot softer and it didn’t leave any stickiness behind. I was quite surprised at this due to the initial thickness of the cream.

The scent is clean and unobtrusive and would suit pretty much everyone. Women, men and children could all use this cream without the scent being too much. If I had to describe it, the words “fresh linen” came to mind for some reason. If I had to give one negative about this cream, the scent would be it. Although I don’t hate it, I don’t love it either. If I had to compare it to the Nivea Body Firming Lotion that I use, it would lose easily as I adore the scent of that lotion.

Nivea Soft is very fairly priced and comes in generous sizes. I think it would be a great purchase for someone that needs some heavy duty body moisturising. Although I didn’t try it on my face because of my sensitive skin, I would consider using it on my face on the extra dry patches I tend to get in the winter. I would especially consider using this on my face before I go outdoors for extra protection and since I’m allergic to products containing sunscreen.

You may be able to obtain a free sample on the Nivea website still. This is a great family product, especially for large families with lots of different types of skin. You wouldn’t have to fill your bathroom counter with several different kinds of moisturisers, you’d only need one pot of Nivea Soft. Especially if you need some intensive moisturising, this is the cream for the job.
