Barbie Doll Bundt Cake

Needed:
Bundt cake mix or recipe
Two cans frosting
Barbie or similar doll

It’s always nice when you’re able to make something that looks expensive or intricate. People fawn all over the homemade items and sing your praises for some time. You don’t really do it for that reason, though – not usually. You do it to save money or just because you enjoy doing things for your friends and family. If it turns out that others take notice that’s good too! Of course, if you spend hours on a craft project or in the kitchen, you’re sure to create something impressive, but what about if you don’t have that kind of time? Don’t worry! Many magnificent creations seem to be complicated but really aren’t. If your daughter is looking forward to a Barbie birthday party, you can make a Barbie cake, and this one will actually have a real doll in the center!

It’s so easy to make a Barbie doll cake that, afterwards, you’ll be in awe of the simplicity. That’s because, when you make the Barbie cake with a bundt pan, most of the work is already done for you! You don’t have to worry about digging out an area from a baked cake so that you can make room for the doll, and in addition, the bundt cake already has the perfect shape for a Barbie doll skirt!

Mix up any flavor of cake from a box or recipe. Spray a large bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray and bake the cake according to the recipe or box. Allow the cake to cool completely.

The cake is appropriate for most any Barbie-type doll. The doll must be unclothed to begin. You will be putting frosting on the doll so consider the manner in which her hair is styled. If the hair is very long you’ll need to put it in an up-do to ensure it doesn’t get into the frosting. Stand the doll in the middle of the cake for a minute. See how far the cake comes up on her body and take a mental note. You’ll need to make her a frosting outfit that goes down to that area.

You’ll need at least two cans of frosting to make the Barbie doll cake – more if you want it to be really thick. Start by washing the body of the doll and drying it well. Apply frosting to cover the breasts of the doll. It’s not necessary to make sleeves or straps. Continue frosting the doll – on the front and the back – until you reach the determined area. In the back, you need only frost from the waist, down.

Frost the bundt cake around the middle circle. Stand the doll in her place then continue to frost the cake. Add extra frosting, if needed, to fill in the circle around the doll. Blend it in with the frosting on the doll.

You can add candy accents to the skirt of the doll by sticking small candies into the frosting, here and there, around the bundt cake. Your little girl will go crazy when she sees the beautiful creation and so will her friends! It’ll be her best birthday party ever!
