Austin Horseback Riding Lessons

Austin Equestrian Center
Austin Equestrian Center is located in south Austin just east of IH 35 between Ben White Boulevard and Slaughter Lane. They offer boarding, training, lessons, leasing, and trail rides, as well as dog boarding. The center also offers riding lessons in English and Western disciplines, for kids and adults from beginning to advanced. During lessons, riders receive a 45-minute consultation to work on balance, flexibility or relaxation. The center offers lessons in dressage, hunter, jumper and western riding styles. They also have summer camp for children.

Bear Creek Stables
Bear Creek Stables offers Western and English riding style lessons. Classes are divided according to skill level, with each class riding for one hour a week. A four week session costs $120. They also offer trail rides and a summer camp for children. Bear Creek stables also offers lessons through UT’s Informal Classes.

Bee Cave Riding Center
Bee Cave Riding Center is located west of Austin, TX, between Lakeway and Dripping Springs. They offer group, semi-private and private riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines. You must call to get pricing info. Also, the center offers birthday parties and guided trail rides.

Cameron Equestrian Center
Cameron Equestrian Center is located 15 minutes from Austin’s downtown. The center offers English, Hunter/Jumper and Dressage lessons. They also offer boarding, a children’s horse camp, and equine care. You can join a small group lesson or take one-on-one private lessons, with all levels being offered. Private Lesson are for 1 hour at $65.00, or 30-minutes for $55.00. Group lessons cost $45.00. Horses can be leased on a per month basis if desired.

Rio Vist Tack & Farm Shop
Rio Vista Tack & Farm Shop only instructs those that own their own horses or are leasing. Boarders take two group lesson days per week. This allows them to group together riders by ability and to limit lesson size. Lesson costs range from group lessons(45 minutes to 1 hour) for $40 per lesson, semi-private lessons(45 minutes) for $50 per lesson, and private lessons(45 minutes) for $65 per lesson. They also offer a summer camp for children.

University of Texas- Informal Classes
The Texas Union Informal Classes hosts education classes (not for academic credit) at The University of Texas at Austin. Classes range from dancing lessons to cooking lessons to lessons on financial planning to horse riding lessons. The classes are usually on a few weeks, and are intended to give the most amoung of info in the shortest time possible. Currently, there is a Western Horseback riding class offered for $116 or $128, depending on your affiliation with the university. There are four sessions with a limit of eight people to each class so that there is more one-on-one time. All lessons are taught at Bear Creek Stables in South Austin.
