Amtrak Cross – Country Traveling is Fantastic

When you want to travel across the country you will want to consider taking the Amtrak train. I have traveled cross-country and back on the Amtrak trains and have enjoyed it immensely. It was a wonderful experience and one that you should consider taking. There are several routes that you can take and during your travels across the country you will be able to stop at various places, too. For those of you that have never traveled by Amtrak train here are some things that you will find when you do decide to go on a train across country.

There are different types of seating arrangements when you board the Amtrak train for a cross-country trip. You can sit in the Business Class or the Coach Class and there is seating on two levels. Your trip may last several days so a pillow and blanket are needed. There are also sleeping accommodations if you prefer to travel that way. You can pick from suites, bedrooms and another type of accommodation called a roomette. There are plenty of choices when you are traveling the Amtrak trains. Remember that carry on baggage is limited to two pieces to take on board the train. The rest has to go in storage, so consider that when you are getting ready for your trip on board the Amtrak trains. Bring what you need on the train. Some suggestions are books, necessary hygiene items, cards and other things that you might need while you are on board.

You will find that there is a dining room on the trains and that the food is very good. There are glass enclosed sight seeing cars that will allow you to see some very spectacular scenery that you will not be able to see by automobile or by plane. You will want to have your camera handy to get some great pictures for your memories. Be sure to spend time on this sightseeing car and enjoy those fantastic sights. For more enjoyment there is a lounge where many people relax and enjoy themselves during their trip. You can make a lot of friends when you visit the lounge car. Be sure that you take the time to introduce yourself to the other travelers and you will all become friends quickly.
