A Visit to Lucchese’s Italian Restaurant

Last month my husband and I received our yearly Christmas letter from our insurance agent, Jerry Brewton, who had generously given us a coupon good for an 18″ pizza at Lucchese’s Italian Restaurant. Lucchese’s (pronounced lu-caseys) is located at Amberwood Terrace, 655 County Road 17, Suite 9, in Elkhart, Indiana. Their hours are hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Their phone number is (574)522-4137. They have a small banquet room that they can do parties in for up to 50 people. They will provide a family-style meal at your request.

Lucchese’s Italian Restaurant was a longtime favorite in Elkhart, which was formerly located on East Jackson street down town. To tell you the truth, Lucchese’s was never a favorite of mine but I had been to their old location a few times due to the arrangement of other family members.First of all, the atmosphere in their old location, for me, was mediocre. For me, I have to feel comfy cozy in a restaurant, like I’m at home. Even though, Lucchese’s had obvious success for 22 years at the Jackson street location, I was not one to frequent their establishment.

Yesterday, Saturday, December 20, my husband and I were out to finish up some Christmas shopping when we decided to take advantage of the coupon we had and try the new Lucchese’s Italian Restaurant for lunch. We went, we ate and we both loved it. The atmosphere was wonderful as was the service and food. First of all, they place a generously filled basket of Italian bread on the table with small bowl seasoned oil for dipping. It was oh-so-good! After we polished that off, the very friendly and attentive waitress asked if we wanted a refill. The pizza we order was an 18′ with ground sausage, mushrooms and large pepperoni slices. There was plenty of good tomato sauce, which is important to me. The crust was thin but not too thin. It was just right and the leftovers we took home was even better the second time around. We will definitely plan to go back again!

The atmosphere was wonderful as was the service and food. This new place is a huge improvement and we have plans to go back in the near future and are already recommending Lucchese’s to extended family members and close friends.

Lucchese’s is known for it’s fine Italian dishes, extensive wine list and martinis. The average cost of their meals are very affordable and range from $6.00 to $18.00. They also offer carry-out service from their deli and restaurant. Our local newspaper features a coupon good for a free appetizer at Lucchese’s. See link below. Bon Appetit!
