Who is Anthony Morrison?

Late Night Television

Blessed are they who regularly find themselves glued to the late night television infomercials.

I was in this crowd tonight; fed up with the late night comics and bereft from the overexertion of adult entertainment in the San Fernando Valley, I scanned over to the cable channels this night and stumbled on this guy, Anthony Morrison on CNBC’s paid programming late night, being interviewed by this Willard Scott impersonator who was like, “Whoa, UN-BEE-lievable Anthony that you made so much money using your system!” But who is Anthony Morrison? If first impressions are anything, than Morrison is a little nappy-headed, rat looking snake in the mud. Despite my better judgment, I had to investigate further. It didn’t take much searching to validate my initial impression, however let’s take a step back and have a look at Anthony Morrison.

For those not in the know, Morrison is the creator of the Advertising Profits From Home “self made millionaire” book and DVD series. More cynical eyes might surmise that Morrison had an initial big run and is now trying to pawn his stuff off to anyone with a pulse; according to the infomercial he’s practically giving these things away along with your OWN WEBSITE when you sign up now!

While the spin has changed slightly in the year’s I’d been absent from infomercials, the overall message rings as true as ever. These days, when you’re watching an infomercial it’s not in a studio or anything like that; Antony Morrison is at a poolside with a bunch of bikini clad extras prancing around, playing volleyball, laughing, and lounging with other frumpy, middle aged, self-made millionaires who are interspersed during the conversation. Anthony Morrison talks about the “ease” with which he, and by extension “You, can reach success!”

Success is such a loaded word, eh? I mean, if one was successful, chances are they wouldn’t be watching this 12:30 in the morning infomercial which is telling you all the ways you can be the same nappy-headed millionaire Anthony Morrison is, right? The scene is pretty bleak actually; this guy is dirty! His whole countenance is dirty, his hair is dirty, his Ed Hardy T-shirts are clean but the look is dirty. I don’t know anything about his “programs” or “seminars” but I will say that it becomes a slippery slope when you start pushing your dreams off to late night television. But is there a chance I’ve got this guy all wrong? Could mainstream media (and Cyber Media like Associated Content) just have not embraced him because of the MAVERICK that he is?

I did a cursory amount of online research about Anthony Morrison (and discovered the first two Google hits were from SCAM websites). In fairness to Morrison, I did dig a bit deeper on one of the threads and found on “friendsinbusiness.com” where “Morrison” allegedly posted his own retort to many of these accusations. The person claiming to be him didn’t take things to a heavy handed level; he didn’t refute any accusations literally which some might think is good but if he doesn’t have a real defense, how legit can he be? The blogger merely invited skeptics to come to the Morrison events and make up their own mind. “I enjoy meeting people. And I really would love the opportunity to share with you all my system and my story. You won’t find many “business owners” that will respond to threads like this, however, I take an active interest in my company, and the things said about it. ”

So is Morrison true or is he a fake? Well PPC advertising is the latest craze and there are all kinds of niche industries that are touting this as the next big thing. And it very well could be. I don’t know if you need to attend any “seminars” to learn this stuff or read any books or watch any DVD’s. However I invite you to do your own research and make your own mind up for yourself. If you have any experience on Anthony Morrison, feel free to post your comment below. Just because somebody had a bad experience or has a “bad feeling” and says something bad on a SCAM message board thread, doesn’t make their observations any more comprehensive than anyone else’s.
