Many cities have second hand stores that sell used items. These are great places to find cheap games as well. Well known stores include Goodwill and St. Vincent De Paul to name a few. However don’t just try those stores! Also try used book stores for video games. All of these places tend to sell games a lot cheaper than GameStop and other places that sell games brand new.

Stores such as Walmart and Toys R Us tend to discount games a lot. They have at least one (or more) special bin of clearanced games. You will need to spend time sifting through games though, as they aren’t always organized. Games are just in a random pile basically. If you have the time, look through the entire bin. You might get lucky and find a game you’ve been wanting to buy.

If you go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving known as “Black Friday”, be on the lookout for great video game deals. Stores such as Best Buy, Toys R Us and Walmart all tend to have huge discounts on systems and games on this day. Arrive at the stores early though, many times they have limited quantities to go around. So it’s first come, first serve with no rainchecks offered.
