Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker

Crock Pot, Crock Pots

Many homes have a slow cooker, or crock pot, but if you think they’re all the same, you’re wrong. Sure, all crock pots allow you to toss a few items into the pot and cook all night, waking up to a delicious meal for the next day, but the Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker is all that and more. I love my Rival Slow Cooker and can’t live without it.

Rival makes a regular size crock pot and a larger size as well. Mine is the larger one – 6.5 quart – which holds quite a lot. And, the Rival Crock Pot has a feature that you rarely find on other crock pots: a “warm” button. Most crock pots have a high and low setting, for cooking quickly or overnight, but most don’t have a button that allows you to just keep the contents warm for serving over a period of time.

The Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker came to me from an online order and I loved it as soon as I saw it. It was white with an inner crock and glass lid. I love the clear lid because I can look in to see if I need to add more liquid or just see how dinner is progressing. The crock is made to go straight from cooking to the refrigerator and back again without damage to the crock.

Cleaning the Rival is very easy. Simply remove the stoneware and wash with soap and water. A dampened cloth is all you need to remove any spilled foods from the sides of the pot. No scrubbing is ever necessary with the Rival.

Rival makes a smaller crock pot but I like cooking extra to allow for leftovers the following day. I especially love the crock pot on hot days because I don’t have to stand over a stove to make a nice meal. At night, I just throw in the ingredients of the dish, then select “low” to cook. In the morning, the dish is prepared and I can then set it on “warm” to keep throughout the day, leave it on “low” to cook a little longer, or place it in the fridge and warm it back up later.

Rival makes a similar crock pot to the one I have but the similar one has a touch pad that allows you to select the time length and temperature. A countdown timer displays how much time is left before the dish is finished.

I’ve found dozens of great dish recipes online that I can use with my Rival Crock Pot, making it easy to prepare different dishes every night of the month, if I wish. I definitely use the Crock Pot at least a couple of times every week, though.

I highly recommend the Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker, in the small or large size, for your family. It’ll save you a bunch of time in the kitchen, will keep your home cool even when you fix a large meal, and it’s a breeze to clean up after. The price for the large model is about $40, and well worth it.
