American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner 8.45 Oz – Review

Conditioning Hair, Tea Tree

I have used tea tree products in the past before. My boyfriend adores tea tree oil, he claims that the magic oil heals everything, from acne to scars. However when he wears this oil he smells like a hot mess. I just can’t stomach the smell of it, so I’d rather live with a nasty pimple, then smell like a nasty herbal mess.

When I was recently given a box of beauty and hair products American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner was part of the collection of goodies. However when I read that it contained tea tree, I was less than excited. I didn’t even want to pop the top to smell it. I had a gut feeling it would stink like that Bert’s Bees oil stick that my boyfriend uses.

Due to the pretty packaging though I had to at least give it a sniff. American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner comes in an 8.45 ounce bottle. The bottle itself is a semi-transparent amber colored bottle, which is actually really pretty, and reminded me of Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber art work on the bottles.

I knew though that this was not going to smell like sensual amber.

The bottle has a gray click up cap. On the outside of the bottle the name of the product is written in bold gray and white lettering.

The American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner Promise:

The promise on the bottle was vague. Basically it stated that American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner would treat my scalp while conditioning hair without adding any weight. Okay… anything else?

Oh yeah, American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner contains tea tree oil, wheat gluten and soy protein, and some other crap that I can’t spell.

After reading the bottle I can honestly say I was not impressed. They could of been a bit more creative while making up the description for American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner, so I will make one up myself at the end of this review. American Crew should hire me for these things…

Anyhow on to how well it worked.

First though, let me tell you how it smelled.

Remember before when I told you how horrible tea tree oil smells, and how I associated the name tea tree with the horrid scent, and how I assumed that American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner would smell just as terrible? Well let me tell you American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner does not smell terrible at all. In fact the scent is very unique and quite pleasant.

The scent itself is hard to distinguish, but I will say this American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner smells earthy. It’s clean, fresh, and it reminds me of how the air smells on a breezy fall day. Sort of like dead leaves, but sweet scented dead leaves. To put it in other words, it’s nice. You will like it. It is not overpowering, nor is it weak.

My Use:

Seeing how the sister shampoo was not included in the box of goods, I first rinsed using some regular ol’ shampoo. Next I dabbed about a half handful into my palms and spread the conditioner through my hair.

The conditioner is silky to the touch, and is extremely moisturizing. My locks were getting the treatment they deserved.

After 3 minutes (or however long it takes for me to shave my pits, and crotch) I rinsed American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner from my hair. I could feel the difference as I was rinsing. My hair was tangle free, and silky.

I wondered though, would it remain tangle free and silky as I air dried?

Answer:

No. My hair did frizz up, but it normally does that. My fur though was left feeling extremely silky still.

Overall:

My hair dried nicely, but not as ice as it could have. American Crew Tea Tree Conditioner in my opinion is a good conditioner, and considering it’s lower price it’s a pretty decent conditioner.

I don’t love it, nor do I hate it. It is something though that I would consider buying again. It works way better than other conditioners in its price range.
