Best Tourist Attractions in Dallas, Texas for Cotton Bowl Fans

It’s time for the annual AT&T; Cotton Bowl Classic in Dallas. While visiting for the game there are many different Dallas attractions to entertain you before and after kickoff.

Trains at NorthPark

The Trains at NorthPark is a must see for both young and old train lovers. The Dallas holiday tradition features 35 ‘O’ trains traveling through a miniature Dallas skyline, New York, Washington D.C. Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Rushmore. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. The attraction is located in NorthPark Center at North Central Expressway at Northwest Highway. Hours are Monday-Saturdy 10a.m. till 9 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6p.m. This event ends on January 1st.

New Years Eve

If staying in Dallas for New Years Eve be sure to check out some of the parties that are going on around town. Poor David’s Pub is having it’s traditional New Year’s Eve Party. Admission is $15 and they will have black eye peas as party favors. Everyone is also invited on stage to sing. After midnight they will be holding a kissing contest. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to the pub. The pub is located at 1313 South Lamar Street in Dallas. Another New Year’s Eve party to visit is Chamonix II they will be having a huge party with hors d’eouvres ad music. Admission is $69 and the hours of the party is 9p.m. to 12:30a.m..

New Year’s Eve Parade

AT&T; starts its Cotton Bowl celebration with a parade in Dallas. The parade is scheduled to start at 2p.m. at Comerica Bank Tower located at Ervay and Elm and conclude at The American Airline Centers. This is a family friendly parade that not only welcomes visitors that come for the Cotton Bowl game but also celebrates the revitalization of Dallas. The parade will feature the two university bands that will be participating in the Cotton Bowl classic and also 20 high school marching bands from across the country. Following the parade their will be a pep rally in downtown Dallas.

Places to Visit While in Dallas

The Dallas Arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road and features 66 aces of landscape. This is a great place to visit with the family. The will be featuring their holiday at the Arboretum till January 6th. Another great attraction in Dallas is the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. The museum chronicles the assassination of John F Kennedy. It features movies, pictures and audio about John F Kennedy and his assassination. The Galleria of Dallas is another great place to stop at while in Dallas. The mall features many different places to shop and eat and also an indoor skating rink that all ages will enjoy.

Places to Eat while in Dallas

One of the funniest places to eat while in Dallas is at the Rainforest Café. The café is located inside Grapevine Mills mall and features a roaring waterfall with a rainbow and animated rainforest animals. Another great place to dine at while in Dallas is Texas de Brazil. Texas de Brazil combines the cuisines of Brazil with the spirit of Texas for a wonderful continuous dinning experience. Medieval Times dinner and tournament is not only a great place to dine but also features a show with knight and horses.
