Are you looking to throw a party for your child in the Washington, DC area? Well here are some entertainment options for a birthday party. . Here are some of my favorite suggestions ranging from activity centers to improvisational shows.

Details: This is a little different than many of the cookie cutter party operations that have popped up with inflatable activities. This is a gym setting for children. They party package includes use of the gym equipment, a party leader, invitations, paper products, beverages, and access to a private party room. The birthday child receives a t-shirt, and all guests receive a balloon.

Details: This party package lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and includes several different options for your party. All parties include up to 20 guests, a party leader and an assistant, table cloth and invitations, and coffee and tea for the adults. You also choose a package such as a train party, tribal challenge party (similar to Survivor theme), maze party or pirates just to name a few. There is a t-shirt for the birthday child and party souvenirs based on the theme of the party.

Details: This is party opportunity with inflatable moon bounces, slides, and obstacles with a couple other opportunities too. One of them that is included in the birthday package is the opportunity to have photos taken for the first 15 minutes in a fun room with oversized inflatable props. The birthday child receives a Kasey Kangaroo t-shirt, and all children receive a group photo. The $335 fee includes up to 25 guests, 2 hosts, drinks, and paper products.

Details: This is a unique opportunity for your birthday boy or girl and their friends to attend an improvisational show and have a party. Now This! Kids! is held on various Saturday afternoons at 1:30. The party includes lunch before the show. The cost is $20 per child and includes the show, unlimited pizza, hot dogs, soda, cake and ice cream. The birthday child is interviewed before the show and they become part of that day’s show. This will give them and their friends something to talk about.

Details: These parties are based on fifteen different themes for you to choose from. The cost is determined by the theme and number of children attending, so it varies. In general a party lasts 2 hours. The cost will include both invitations and thank you cards, along with cake, party favors, the paper supplies, souvenir photos for all the children, and a special gift for the birthday boy or girl. Some of the themes include train, tea, pirates, a dinosaur hunt, and dance party themes just to name a few.

Details: This is another of those party centers for birthday parties where there are a bunch of inflatable moon bounces, slides, and obstacles. For $350 you can have a weekend party with 40 minutes in one play area, 40 minutes in an additional play area, and 40 minutes in a party room. You can have up to 25 children attend. For a cheaper rate consider weekday parties which only run you $250.

Details: This is a chance for your child to see a show at a national park and have a party as well. The shows are held on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am and 1:30 pm. Your child can have from 10-25 friends at their party. They get to see the show with reserved seating, and then have an hour in a party room. Tickets are sold based on the group size between $8 and $11 each along with $100 for the room. The birthday boy or girl gets their own thrown in the party room, there is a party host, and invitations are included in the cost as well. Paper goods, food, and drinks are not included. With this being a national park, balloons are not allowed.

Details: This is an opportunity for your toddler or preschool birthday boy or girl to get together with their friends in an activity center just for them. It has tunnels, bridges, and obstacles for them to navigate with their friends. For $395, you can have a group of children in the play area for 90 minutes. The cost includes table clothes, place settings, balloons, hats, and staff for the party along with the time in the play area.
