Review: Gucci Rush, Perfume for Women

Designer Fragrances, Designer Perfumes, Gucci

It is rare for me to buy designer fragrances from perfume stores. I seriously only find myself buying perfume from stores when I know what I want, and I cannot find it anywhere else.

Gucci is a designer brand of perfume that I myself would most likely never buy from a perfume store, only because Gucci prices perfume absurdly.

When the Gucci designer name lands in my basket for nearly pennies on the dollar… I can’t not buy it.

A few weeks ago my mom came home with a slew of designer perfumes that she picked up from a thrift store. It seems that every other week this particular thrift store has designer perfume on their shelves for a few dollars each; in some cases less. It’s like the designer gold mine here, and I hit it up regularly just to see what they have in stock. Sometimes there is a hit, and sometimes a miss.

In my moms recent mining trip, she brought back a bunch of designer perfumes. Gucci Rush 2 was one of the fragrances she happened to scoop up for only $3.00. The entire bottle of perfume felt full, but due to the odd bottle it came in you really couldn’t tell just how much was left.

The bottle isn’t necessarily a bottle. It’s actually a red plastic rectangle. The red rectangle is not transparent…and in my opinion, the overall plastic packaging is pretty ugly, and cheap. I imagine that it would easily crack if it were to drop to the floor.

On top of the plastic red rectangle is a built in press down spray nozzle. It was actually sort of hard to press down without having the thing fumble around nearly falling to the ground. A hard push gets the job done…but for some, I could see this stupid nozzle being an issue.

The Scent:

Ahhh…Gucci. I am familiar with the brand, but not too familiar with their designer fragrances. Just because the perfume was Gucci, I assumed it was going to be hot, hot, hot. I thought it would smell like heaven.

When I was able to spray the perfume on I did smell a very nice fragrance…but it wasn’t really what I was expecting. Gucci Rush smelled a bit juvenile to me. It had a very bold cherry scent that hit me hard in the nostrils. Yes it was a nice scent…but it was also a bit to ‘teen girl’ for my likes. It has a very subtle musk undertone, but the fruity cherrieness of it is what makes me label this one the rectangular shaped cherry.

Last:

Gucci Rush is a perfume that you yourself cannot detect after about 20 minutes, but others do smell it throughout the day. I guess that is cool for them, but sucks for you. When I buy perfume I like smelling it to. I don’t buy it so others can enjoy it… so it sort of sucks in the ‘lasting fragrance’ department.

Overall:

Gucci Rush is decent. It’s not a must have in my opinion; nor is it horrendous. It is my opinion though that younger women would enjoy this scent. It’s young, fresh, and fruity. A calm summer night, is basically what Gucci Rush reminds me of.

Where To Find:

Buying Gucci Rush in a perfume store will run you close to $70.00. Your best option in my opinion would be to do a google search on the perfume, and see what online stores have it selling for the best price. You could save yourself a ton of cash looking around for this perfume online, then to just buy it in your local mall.
