Louie

Throughout Station Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are various restaurants and bars, no matter what you are hungry for in both food or entertainment, there is a restaurant for you. Pittsburgh’s Station Square is one of the hot spots in the city. No matter where you go there is something to please everyone, Bar Louie’s is no different.

Getting into Bar Louie’s is a little confusing. Even though there is a sign in the front of the building, you have to walk to the side, almost towards the back in order to enter. If you go through the front doors, you will enter into the Red Star Tavern. You need to be 21 or over to enter the restaurant and they do check your id. The tables are a little crowded together which makes it difficult to move around especially when it’s busy on a Friday night. Some of the booths have soft cushions for your comfort. The restaurant also share the restrooms with the Red Star Tavern, so if need be you can just walk through one restaurant to get to the other. The food is excellent and you get a lot for what you pay for. The prices are rather high, ranging around $8 to about $12. The drinks are rather pricey as well. The amount of money you will spend in the restaurant does not make up for the service you get. It’s very difficult to get the waiter or waitress’s attention for a refill or a mistake with your order. They do take most credit cards to make things a little more easier on the customer.

The establishment is fully handicap accessible with ramps leading to the upper levels. There is a junk box which plays various songs from various decades, though it is too loud to be able to hear what the songs are. It’s a fun and exciting atmosphere with friendly staff. The bar area is in the middle of the restaurant which give it a unique layout with the tables and booths. The restrooms are very clean and there is a staff member who hands you a towel to dry off your hands. In the ladies room there are lotions, perfumes, hair sprays anything a woman would need to fix her hair or appearance throughout the night. It’s a great place to start your night off at.
