Review of Roller Coasters at Six Flags America

Rollercoasters

One summer day the family visited Six Flags America. After spending a day on the rides, here’s my associated content review of roller coasters at Six Flags America. Which is your favorite?

Be sure to read the rules and warnings for each ride and be sure to follow the rules because if you don’t, that’s how roller coaster accidents can happen. You’ll want to secure your belongings including any hats, sun glasses, glasses, phones, and tie long hair back.

Batman’s Batwing
On the way to this ride you’ll see a sign with stats. Don’t be scared of the 1000 plus speed, that’s the speed for Batman’s Batwing plane, not the roller coaster’s speed, which is about 50 mph. It’s 11.5 stories high and this purple and yellow steel coaster has a loop. I had read that it feels like flying. In my opinion, it didn’t feel quite like flying, but it does look like what you’d see if you were flying and is kind of like hang gliding. This is a Vekoma Flying Dutchman type coaster. After being strapped into a seated position, the seats tilt so you lie on your back to ride. Shut your eyes as you’re pulled up to the top on your back to avoid looking at the sun. Then you can open them to ride. Be careful on the stairs after you get off.

The Joker’s Jinx
This is another steel one which is light green, over 78 feet high and 60 mph. It’s a lot like an outdoor Outer Limits Flight of Fear (King’s Dominion) or Space Mountain (Disney World) and takes off at its highest speed and includes loops. I like the indoor ones so riding the outdoor one was neat too.

The Wild One
This the big, stretched out, rollercoaster that’s painted white. It’s not steel, it’s wood and was a bumpy ride. Its highest speed is 45mph and its height is 96 feet. There aren’t upsidedown loops on either wooden coaster. If you ride with your arms up, letting the ride throw you around, you’re more likely to get bumped around and bruised on any roller coaster so it’s a good idea to hold on.

Roar
This is the other wooden roller coaster in a natural wood color. It’s in a more compact area but still 98 feet high and 50 mph. This is one ride where you can see and buy pictures of you or your family on the amusement park ride. It’s another bumpy ride so you might not want to ride both wooden coasters right after another, even though they’re near each other in the park.

The Mind Eraser
Like The Joker’s Jinx, The Wild One, and Roar, you sit in this yellow and orange one which used to be turquoise and puce, or light blue green and dark pink. However, it’s a floorless coaster and the cars / seats hang from the bottom of the track. It includes a loop. I heard that this one was the most painful to ride. It wasn’t bad, but at the end, after the ride stops once, it can go around a corner faster than you might expect just before pulling into the station, so don’t relax too soon or you might get bumped.

Superman’s Ride of Steel
This is the only one we didn’t get to. If you really want to ride it, you might want to ride it first in case you feel too sick or bumped around, or run out of time after riding the others. At 205 feet or 20 stories tall it’s about twice the height of the wooden coasters and is red and blue like Superman and as in the name is made of steel. It doesn’t have upside down loops but does go around in a few circles and starts with a 20 story drop. Roller coaster lovers will probably want to ride this one the most due to the drop.

Whether you want to ride seated, lying down, on wooden or floorless coaster, or experience a massive drop at high speeds the amusement park in the ac article has a fun ride for you. Also, a new roller coater is coming. Spending the day riding rollercoasters at Six Flags America was a fun day at the park.
