Product Review: Woolrich Flannel Sheets

L.L. Bean, Land's End

Woolrich Flannel Sheets are the best flannel sheets I have owned. I have sampled brands such as Lands End, L.L. Bean, and store-brand flannel sheets, and none of them compare to the quality of Woolrich. Woolrich flannel sheets are soft, durable, and warm, and give you the best dollar value for your flannel sheet purchase.

I am very picky about sheets as most people are. Most everyone wants to get the best value for their money, whether this means high thread count, smoothness, softness or warmth. I needed something very warm, so I started looking at flannel sheets. I learned from my experience that a good brand name does not necessarily equate to a quality product.

L.L. Bean sheets were the first sheets sampled, in a denim blue color. They were pricey, but I figured they would be worth it, as the L.L. Bean name is so highly regarded for cool weather gear, clothing, and household goods. The sheets looked beautiful in the package. I took them out and washed them before placing them on the bed. Even after the first wash, I was disappointed. I could tell they were not what I was looking for. Once the first washing had washed away the soft new fuzz, I could see that I had a relatively thin set of sheets that looked like they would pill easily over time. As time passed, I found that unfortunately, I was right. They did pill, and became somewhat rough and uncomfortable. I was also not pleased with the thinness of the sheets, especially considering the price I paid for them.

I tried Lands End next. These were not as costly, and actually better quality. The sheets were thicker and more durable. They did not pill as quickly. For the price I paid, I felt that I got a pretty reasonable deal, but I was still not completely satisfied. I simply wanted a better sheet set for my money.

I did some browsing on amazon.com and found Woolrich flannel sheets from target.com. I knew that Woolrich made great quality sweaters and other clothing items, so I thought this might be worth a shot. Plus, the prices were excellent, especially off-season. We’re talking $29.99 for a Queen sized set. This type of low price is unheard of when buying flannel sheets. I figured because of the price, they would probably be junk, but I figured I might as well give it a try, because the ratings on amazon were very positive.

When the sheets arrived, they looked beautiful. I washed them, as I had the other sheet sets, and they washed up beautifully, and just became a softer, more pliable version of what they were straight out of the package. I placed them on the bed. They fit nice and tight. Not too loose, as some sheets do. They just fit perfectly, so that they looked nice, neat and crisp. The picture of the perfectly made bed.

Over time, I found the flannel sheets from Woolrich to wear beautifully. Pilling was minimal, and what little there was, had a soft feel to it. The thickness was perfect, and they were very warm. I was so enamored with them, that I bought another set from target.com, and found an excellent deal on a set from ebay.com. I have been absolutely delighted with these sheets in every way.

If you are looking for a set of high quality flannel sheets for your bed, I would definitely recommend Woolrich. You can find them at amazon.com, target.com, and on ebay.com. You do not have to buy sheets separately, as they come in a complete set. They are thick, durable, and resist pilling. They have the potential to last for years, and if well cared for, possibly the better part of a lifetime. The value that you get for the amount of money spent on these sheets is incredible, and one of the best deals on any product I have ever used. You can find great markdowns on these sheets after Christmas, and especially at Target brick and mortar stores. Once you try these flannel sheets you will be hooked, and with good reason!
