Product Review: Better’ N Peanut Butter

I finally found Better ‘N Peanut Butter; I picked it up at Trader Joe’s in nearby Stockton California. I wanted to do this product review and thought it would be easy, but I looked at maybe 10 different Grocery stores for this product and I could not find it. Trader Joe’s was the only place that carried it. Better ‘N Peanut Butter was on the shelf with the other Peanut Butter’s and flavored butter along with the jams and jellies. I was very excited to have finally found this product and I was dying to try it. The name alone had me very curious.

Better ‘N Peanut Butter is a diet product so I thought a health food store might sell it, but I was wrong. Trader Joe’s is known for their unique variety of grocery items. I did have to travel to Stockton which is only about 20 miles from my home. I found several items that I wanted to try.

Better ‘N Peanut Butter is made by The Wonder Natural Foods Corporation in Watermill, NY Their website will be very helpful.www.betternpeanutbutter.com they have a store locator to help you find a store in your area.. The 16oz jar I purchased will last until 02/2012. Better’ N Peanut Butter has 85% less fat, we can all benefit from less fat in our food. With 40% less calories than most regular Peanut Butter and it is ALL Natural. More benefits that are healthy, no saturated fat, no Trans fat, gluten free, dairy free, no cholesterol and no preservatives. Also low sodium. With only 2 grams of sugar, for 2 teaspoons, compared to 3 grams, for 2 teaspoons in regular peanut butter. I usually buy Skippy super chunk and my husband is a type 2 diabetic, who loves Peanut Butter anything. 3 grams of sugar is not really that bad at all.

I have to say that we liked it, we put it on some delicious Trader Joe’s all grain bread that I toasted and the peanut butter was very creamy. It was a little runny and hard to get around the spoon but this made it spread easily. It has a vanilla taste and not too much of a peanut taste. I did feel a little disappointed with the lack of peanut taste probably because I love the peanut taste of the Skippy super chunky Peanut Butter that I usually buy. This product was worth the $3.99 that we spent to try it.
