ZeroWater is a total water filter that gets rid of contaminants and dissolved particles in a five step filtration process through its replaceable filter. The ZeroWater filter uses five steps with particle and activated carbon filtering as well as an ion exchange to get rid of most contaminants and particles.

ZeroWater now has a large 23 cup dispenser that can be set inside your refrigerator or on your counter as well as your table to dispense the clean water. The ZeroWater dispenser comes with a Total Dissolved Solids meter to electronically check your water before and after filtering.

The ZeroWater dispenser comes in two pieces with the filter screwing into the bottom of the white inner plastic part of the dispenser. The dispenser has a push button spout on the front with a round edge handle on the front and back for carrying and comfortable grip while picking up.

The spout does not drip and leak; I have been using it on my countertop and have not seen any water puddles below the dispenser from leaks. The interior piece of the dispenser holds the filter and takes a couple of turns at filling to fully get water through the filter cartridge.

The top area holds about nine or ten cups of water for filling and takes about a half hour to completely fill the dispenser through the cartridge. The cartridge does work well and you may get a few particles and carbon dust in the top area which can easily be rinsed out but there is nothing but clean clear water in the lower area of the dispenser.

The ZeroWater Dispenser has a convenient snap in holder for the tester on top of the spout so you have a convenient storage spot for the tester when not in use. The TDS tester can check a wide range of particles and things in water by parts per million when testing.

I checked our tap water again as I did when I first reviewed the ZeroWater pitcher and found similar readings of 230 ppm while the ZeroWater filtered water tested at 002. This is a fantastic filter that really does get rid of a lot of contaminants from your tap water and the taste is the final test for me.

The taste from the filtered water is very appealing as there is no mineral or chlorine tastes to my water while there is some kind of flavor or taste in my tap water. It would be very hard to explain the flavor as it is very faint but noticeable when compared to filtered water from the ZeroWater.

The ZeroWater does take out all taste and flavor from the water even though our tap water is well filtered by the city that does remove a good amount of contaminants. The ZeroWater filter may cost a bit more than others at about $15 to $20 per filter but these really do clean out your water extremely well.

One very telling difference between the ZeroWater filter system and others is having to rinse the filter to get rid of carbon particles before use. Pur and Brita filters are supposed to be rinsed clean before using while the ZeroWater filters are ready to use straight from the package.

When you rinse the filters from a Pur or Brita system the carbon comes out a little bit but if you rinse the ZeroWater filter nothing comes out. The ZeroWater filters keep things out of your water and require no rinsing; the whole idea of a filter is to keep things out of your water isn’t it?

Having to rinse cartridges seems odd to me as it means that the cartridge does not do what it is made to which is keep things out of your water. The ZeroWater cartridges are meant to be put directly into the dispenser as it has a final layer of filtering before the water comes out of the cartridge to keep particles out of the dispenser.

The ZeroWater dispenser fits nicely into my refrigerator but is used more often simply on my countertop as we have found that dispensers take up more room than we want inside the fridge. The dispenser works well and is easy to use with a push button spout that fills a glass pretty fast but this may be a bit too fast for younger kids.

Children like to help themselves but this may not be the kind that younger kids can use without help from an adult so the dispenser is more of an adults and older kids only product. The ZeroWater Dispenser holds a gallon and a half of water and does take a few minutes for the water to filter through the cartridge so filling it up when empty make take a half hour or so from fully empty.

I like the ZeroWater dispenser a lot and it has found a definite place in my kitchen over the pitcher which is used more for company and dinners than everyday use. My fridge is usually packed and I really don’t have room for a pitcher with just water so I have been using the ZeroWater dispenser on my countertop which works great.

Whenever I want a nice glass of filtered water or to fill my countertop ice cube maker my ZeroWater dispenser is conveniently on my countertop to give me clean and fresh water without hassles. I highly recommend the ZeroWater 23 cup Dispenser for a convenient family sized water filter system that really cleans the water from all contaminants.
