The Ab Lounge Sport retails for under $100.00. For fitness consumers on a budget, the price is perfect. I found the “Sport” model to be the most inexpensive model in most super center stores and retailers.
Due to the lower price you will have to endure the assembly process. Total assembly time for the Ab Lounge Sport is approximately 30 minutes. The directions are easy to read and the included parts are clearly marked. This fitness machine was the easiest I have ever assembled.
Ease of use was as important to me as a consumer as ease on the wallet and the Ab Lounge Sport does not disappoint. Accommodating up to 250 pounds and preventing strain on the neck and back are two of the great benefits of the Ab Lounge Sport. Similar to a plug and play computer device, the Ab Lounge Sport is ready to use immediately after assembly.
Using the Ab Lounge Sport is surprisingly easy even for a novice or overweight user. The chair is made of durable canvas and bends in the middle. The user simply has to sit in the chair with their bottom firmly planted in the bend of the chair. By lifting the knees to the chest, the chair will bend thus working the abdominals while supporting the back and neck.
When in use the Ab Lounge Sport measures about 7 feet in length. Conveniently the unit stores folded upright to minimize space. When fashioning an entire home gym in your two car garage as I am attempting, this feature is simply brilliant.
Even though this product is nearly perfect, there are two cons to attend with. The Ab Lounge Sport is made of canvas. When working out, the body usually sweats and the canvas absorbs the sweat very easily. Without proper care and cleaning the Ab Lounge could eventually smell quite offensive.
The only other negative was a problem I encountered as a below average consumer. At 5’4″ tall, if I did not have my bottom firmly pressed into the fold of the chair, I suffered from back pain the following day. This, of course, is not the manufacturers mistake, but consumers of shorter stature may need to be extra careful to use this product according to directions.
