A Product Review of Corn Huskers Lotion

Paul Harvey

Sometimes my husband amazes me! A few years ago, while listening to Paul Harvey on the radio, he heard about a product called Corn Huskers Lotion, and was so sold on the product he went right to the store and bought a bottle. He was so excited to tell me all about it! I was skeptical. I mean, this stuff comes in a plastic bottle with a screw on top. It does not in any way resemble a tube of hand lotion. The container is clear, and you can see the opal colored contents.

It didn’t take long to make a believer out of me! This product is simply amazing, and it’s unlike anything I have ever seen or used since. The consistency is more of a translucent gel than a lotion, and it is fairly thick. A small pea sized amount is enough to moisturize my hands, and the solution penetrates deeply, leaving NO greasy residue behind.

During the winter months, my hands sometimes get so dry that they literally hurt. Applying Corn Huskers Lotion to them instantly makes them feel healthier. It also has a cooling effect on the body, so I bet it would be soothing to a sunburn. I never burn my skin so I’ve not had a chance to test that theory.

The manufacturers, Warner-Lambert Company (owned by Pfizer), have used an unusual combination of ingredients in this lotion. Glycerin is a well known emollient and lubricant, which is great for dry skin. It is an ingredient in many hand creams, especially those extra thick types that come in a tube. It is also a humectant, which means that it will actually draw moisture into the skin.

Our Experience
Both my husband and I love Corn Huskers Lotion. I use other creams and lotions as well, but this bottle of Corn Huskers sits right on my kitchen window sill. I use it after doing dishes or washing my hands. The smell is extremely hard to describe, but it is not a citrus or floral smell. I guess if I had to describe it I’d say it was more of an Oriental scent. It reminds me of resins and spices, and has a very natural and country type of scent. I would even call the smell warm and sensual in an earthy way.

My husband has eczema, something that runs rampant in his family. He does resort to using prescription cortisone creams from time to time when the flare up’s are bad, but usually Corn Huskers Lotion helps soothe the sores and moisturizes the skin so it’s not as dry and itchy. A big part of the problem with my husbands eczema is the itching, and as long as he can keep the itch under control, the skin rash will usually go away. Corn Huskers definitely helps with this frustrating skin condition.

As for myself, I find the lotion so soothing that there are times when NOTHING else will do. It HAS to be Corn Huskers Lotion! I highly recommend this product, and it only costs a few dollars! One bottle lasts for months, so it is extremely affordable. Two thumbs up for Corn Huskers Lotion.
