Sears Kenmore Microwave Oven Product Review

Kenmore, Sears

If you’re in the market for a microwave that works great, is reasonably priced, and is compact, Sears may have the microwave oven you need. When my old oven died, it was time to go shopping for a replacement. I replaced it with one from Sears, and love it. You will, too!

After shopping around, I purchased the Sears Kenmore Microwave Item 02066102000, manufacturer model l# 66102. It’s available in both black and white. It’s small, or medium sized. It easily fits on a countertop with room to spare. Don’t let its small size deceive you – it’s a workhorse.

With 800 watts of power, the Sears Kenmore Microwave is a quick-cooking animal. Foods that used to take seven or eight minutes in my old microwave cook much faster, taking only thee or four minutes now.

One of my favorite features is how the Sears Kenmore Microwave stops cooking when you open the door.

Imaging we’re cooking oatmeal. The timer hasn’t gone off, but it looks like it’s done and we want to check. Interrupting the cooking cycle, we open the door, remove the bowl of oatmeal, and close the door.

As soon as I closed the door, my old microwave would start “cooking” again – I had to put down whatever was in my hands and stop it manually. Not so with the Sears Kenmore Microwave. When you open the door, the cook cycle is interrupted. Simply press the start button to continue the cooking cycle.

The Sears Kenmore Microwave is very easy to use. It’s intuitive. It has a ton of extra features if you need them. You can open the box, plug it in, and you’re ready to go.

I don’t know who wrote the manual for this Sears Kenmore Microwave, but they did a great job! It’s easy to read and understand – and you don’t have to read it to figure out how to turn it on and use it!

The timer is digital, so cooking times are precise. The digital clock doubles as both a clock and a timer. You don’t have to figure out “how” to use it as a timer — there’s a button that says, “kitchen timer.”

The control panel has several pre-set options for commonly cooked foods. Presets include pizza, potatoes, casserole, baked goods, frozen meals, fresh vegetables, and dinner plate. These work great!

There’s a glass tray that rotates inside of this microwave. It’s a real timesaver. I don’t have to stop the cooking, move around the food, and start again. It’s easy to remove for cleaning. The glass tray from my old microwave had to be put back “just so,” or it wouldn’t rotate. Not so with this one – it’s a breeze! Just put the circular glass tray back in, and you’re done. No more fidgeting to get the glass tray aligned properly.

Sears Kenmore microwaves go on sale regularly. At a sale price of only $63, this microwave can’t be beat. Sears also sells an optional mounting bracket to mount this underneath a cabinet, if desired.
