Beauty Product Review: Arbonne Intelligence Daily Self-Adjusting Shampoo and Conditioner

Arbonne, Oily Hair, Protect Hair

A very nice friend of mine, who happens to be an Arbonne consultant, sent some samples to me last week. I have tried a few of these products and would like to pass on my opinion. The products are a bit expensive, but they say you get what you pay for.

Arbonne Intelligence is described as not-so-basic hair care. The shampoo and conditioner is “self-adjusting” to adapt for different types of hair. The official catalogue description is “Arbonne Intelligence blends the best of previous skin care technologies with key elements, ingredients and antioxidant vitamins to create a simple, smart, self-adjusting regimen for daily use. If you have intelligence, you have it all … even products for hair that are also smart and that self-adjust.” “Arbonne’s hair care is smart, simple and self-adjusting… These smart hair care products clean, moisturize and protect hair so that no matter what your style, your hair will shine.

The Daily Self-Adjusting Shampoo is described as “Enhance hair’s shine and manageability with this light, super-hydrating shampoo that adjusts to the daily, changing needs of all hair types.” The key ingredients are Nanospheres, nettle, hops, sage and thyme extracts with vitamins A, C and E.

The scent of the shampoo, which is important to me, was very very light. It is a non-descript scent but not unpleasant. It lathered quite well and my hair felt “squeaky” clean after rinsing. This would be excellent if I had normal to oily hair but for dry or damaged hair, that is lethal. My hair is highly color processed so it concerned me a bit. I also have my hair dyed red which is very sensitive to overly cleansing shampoos. As it turns out, it did strip some of my color off which did not make me too happy. Yes, my hair is clean, but my color is partially gone and it is a bit frizzy after drying it with a dryer.

I also used the conditioner at the same time. The Daily Self-Adjusting Conditioner is described as “Condition hair daily with this light, ultra-beneficial conditioning formula that gets to the root of dryness to condition both hair and scalp for beautiful, healthy results.” Key ingredients are Nanospheres, hops, yucca, rosemary and thyme extracts.

The conditioner was pretty thick and felt good on my scalp. It also has a light scent like the shampoo. I left it in a few minutes and then upon rinsing I noticed that I was losing quite a few hairs. I know that we do normally shed around 50 hairs a day so I didn’t think too much of it but I did seem to shed a bit more than normal. My hair felt clean, as I said, and it was pretty well conditioned. If I had normal hair or oily hair, this would have been perfect. As I said though, my hair is color treated and it just wasn’t enough to condition my hair. Even after adding my leave-in conditioner, it was a bit dry after blow drying but it is soft and shiny.

My opinion would be that these products are great if you have normal to oily non-processed hair. If you have colored your hair or it is very dry, try another product.

If you would like to try these products, I’m sure that you can find an Arbonne consultant in your area to send you a sample or you can visit my friend’s website at: http://dancinghorses.myarbonne.com.
