As someone who has been using electric shavers for many years, I have gone through my fair share of them. As a Christmas gift this past year, my wife got me a new Remington Microflex R-845 Electric Shaver. She knew I was in need of a new electric shaver and she picked this shaver up from Wal-Mart and gave it to me to try out.
This was actually my first Remington rotary shaver I had ever owned, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect.
The Remington R-845 comes with 3 independently floating heads that also pivot to give you as close a shave as possible. While the heads do pivot and do their job, I find that many times I have to go over the same area several times in order to get a close shave. Yes, it requires a little extra time, but it is still much faster than using the old style shaver with shaving cream.
I also found on a couple of different occasions that the shaver left my face feeling a bit irritated after using it, although this has been only a handful of times out of several months. The Remington R-845 also includes some very nice features such as:
– Built-in trimmer that makes cutting sideburns or moustaches a breeze. I have used it several times and it has been very useful.
I will say that the battery life is as good as advertised. I have been able to go longer than 2 weeks before needing to recharge this shaver. The cost of this shaver was $29.95 and I would say it is a very good value for the price. Most electric shavers like this will easily run upwards of $49.95 – $79.95, so the Remington gets high marks for value.
Although the Remington Microflex R-845 Electric Shaver is not perfect by any means it does do an overall good job of giving you a clean shave. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good electric shaver at an economical price.
