Restaurant Review of Brook’s Steak House in Denver, Colorado

Filet

If you’re in the Denver area and love steak and lobster, give Brook’s Steak House a try. As one of several Denver DTC Restaurants, they feature mouth watering steaks, ranging in size from an 8 oz. Petite Filet to a 24 oz. USDA Prime Porterhouse. The restaurant features deep leather booths or chairs, and the lighting is slightly dimmed. The dining room features dark polished woods and brass fixtures. If you’re waiting for the rest of your dinner companions, have a drink in the full service bar.

Everything from the bread to salad dressings and dessert is made in house. Instead of bringing out a bread basket, they serve you an enormous bowl of shrimp cocktail.

The lobster is to die for and comes with a nice side of drawn butter. If you prefer just lobster, you can choose between the small tail and giant tail entrees. If you want the best of both worlds, pair it with a sizzling, filet mignon.

Other entrees include double-cut pork chops, lamb chops, crab cakes, salmon, and filet of sole. For the sophisticated palate, try an appetizer of oysters on the half shell, or escargot.

The Sliced Beefsteak Tomato Salad is a perfect first course. The onion and Maytag crumbled bleu cheese will make you clean your plate.

Save room for the house dessert of pound cake and ice cream smothered in enough chocolate to satisfy any chocoholic.

Brook’s Steak House features over 1200 different wines from around the world, specializing in California Cabernets and French Bordeaux. Ask your server for a wine recommendation. Enjoy a cognac in the small cigar cellar.

Reservations are strongly recommended, and you still may have a short wait. Brook’s Steak House is a great place for a romantic dinner, but the food is expensive, so don’t be surprised. At the end of your meal, you’ll definitely feel that it was worth the price.

Brook’s Steak House is not really a good place to take kids, and since the food is expensive, they probably should not be included.

The restaurant attracts a large number of professional business people, so you would want to dress in at least business casual attire, but a dress code is not enforced.

Groups are easily accommodated, but call in advance to let the restaurant know how many people they need to set places for.

Private rooms are available for parties, banquets, wedding rehearsal dinners, and receptions. The private rooms are also ideally suited for corporate banquets and meetings. The planning coordinator will work with you to ensure that your special event is a great success.

Located at 6538 S. Yosemite Circle, in Greenwood Village, Brook’s Steak House is open every night from 5-10pm, and valet parking is available. Major credit cards are accepted, but they do not take checks.
