Tony Roma’s, 8560 International Drive, Orlando, Florida, is one of 200 Tony Roma’s restaurants in 33 countries. During a recent visit to Tony Roma’s, I was impressed with the courteous wait staff as well as the delicious grilled meats and vegetables with a fire-roasted flavor.
Although I ordered a grilled chicken dish with artichoke hearts, feta and cherry tomatoes, I was particularly curious about their famous baby back ribs. I sampled a few ribs from my husband’s plate. Glazed with their original sauce, Tony Roma’s ribs had a rich beef flavor and the perfectly grilled crispy edges.
Tony Roma’s started in 1972 in north Miami. Although I had heard of Tony Roma’s, it was my first visit.
Some of the people at my table enjoyed sharing a steak and wild mushroom flatbread with grilled beef tenderloin, Havarti and bleu cheeses, wild mushrooms, red peppers, chives and a creamy horseradish sauce that was on the Tony Roma’s menu. It was a popular appetizer for the group.
I ordered my grilled chicken, which is usually served with rice pilaf and a vegetable side, with green beans and broccoli instead of the rice. I thoroughly loved the flavorful vegetables which were heavily seasoned.
I sampled my husband’s ribs as well as his filet medallions and baked potato. The filet had a delicious Cabernet demi-glaze that was robust but mild.
In addition to steaks and ribs, Tony Roma’s menu included great seafood selections. People may order Mahi Mahi or Norwegian Salmon and then choose a cooking style: grilled, blackened or pan-seared with a sesame crust. The finishes include sweet Thai chili sauce, Kickin’ Sauce, Garlic Scampi Butter and Tomato Pesto salad.
If you are in the mood to indulge, Tony Roma’s also has mini desserts: red velvet cake, key lime tart, raspberry brownie royale, golden apple tart, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate chunk cookie sandwich. They all looked beautiful as pictured on the menu.
For my review, I gave Tony Roma’s 5 out of 5 stars for service and 4.8 out of 5 for its food. Tony Roma’s ribs are a must try! Overall, it was a fine restaurant experience.
