Review of Several Beach Body Exercise Videos

Exercise Programs, Exercise Videos, Shaun T

As the new year starts, then as spring and summer start, more and more people will look into ways to lose weight, improve their physique, or just get healthy. Many of those plans will include exercise that may or may not work. Most plans can help you meet your goals if you just do them. It’s the fit that makes a difference in whether or not you will be consistent enough in the exercise to see results.

A person needs to first know themselves. One company, Beach Body at www.beachbody.com , has several different exercise videos. All of them work beautifully which is evident not only by their infomercials but also by the success stories on their site as well as the message boards for each program. You see examples of men who lose beer bellies and women who gain shape. You see people gain six-pack abs and those who lose 120 pounds of weight. They did so picking the right exercise program for them.

Here are a few reviews of the beginner exercise videos by Beach Body with which I’ve had experience. All will be challenging at first but are good for people who have not had recent experience with a consistent exercise program as well as someone who exercises more regularly.

Yoga Booty Ballet caught my eye pretty quickly. Slow calculated movements, lots of flexibility, and a lot of attitude thrown in for good measure. It took me a moment to get used to the quirkiness of the two teachers, but they are okay. In my opinion, parts of this exercise program were a little hokey and some just not my style. However, I really took to one of the side exercise videos, Cardio Cabaret. I skip the very beginning that bothered my conscience, but really enjoyed it in general. I felt the program quite doable. It taught as it went along, was definitely cardio and dance, but not hard to keep up with like some dance like exercise videos. The HipHopAbs they had was WAY too fast and not something I could possibly get the hang of easily nor would want to. None of this was the kind of exercise program my daughter liked and was way too girlie a video for my teenage son.

Hip Hop Abs is another exercise program by Beach Body, one of the newer ones. The instructor is Shaun T., a Beach Body newbie. The first time I did the exercise video, I so didn’t catch on and didn’t like it and never cared to see it again. But a friend had me bring it over, another friend came over, the three of us made fools of ourselves in the living room trying to learn the exercise moves and I had a great time! It really was a workout and I couldn’t do it all, but I enjoyed it very much. As exercise programs go, it wasn’t very fast paced or too dance-like. There is even a section to learn to dance and though that part of the program is much faster, he breaks it down nicely. I found it enjoyable and would eventually find it do-able.

Beach Body’s Power 90 exercise program is more my style though. There is no dancing. It is just straight forward cardio or weight training, alternating which kind of exercise daily. One day we exercise our way through a cardio workout and then the next day we cycle through our muscle groups with weights or weight bearing exercises. The Beach Body music this exercise program isn’t great so we turn on our own. We made CDs specifically for each day. Some would say this is a manlier workout (though Shaun T, and his ripped six-pack, from Hip Hop Abs may disagree!). I just like straight forward and to the point when I pick an exercise video.

Any of these exercise programs will have anyone doing them consistently losing a great deal of body fat, gaining a great deal of muscle, and looking much better in just a few weeks. All ask that you give yourself a 90-day exercise challenge. If you do, you’ll be hooked! Exercise with Beach Body videos is fun on top of good for you!
