Quantum’s Canker Cover Review

Blistex, Orajel

If your one of the many people who suffer with cankers, you know just how painful they can be. They can come from too much stress, citrus, eating too much chocolate and other issues. Cankers can become so painful that they effect the ability to eat, drink and speak comfortably. There are many treatment options available today such as rinsing with salt water, baking soda and oral rinses. Then there’s putting a moisten tea bag on the canker directly. But if you’ve tried all these remedies and still are dealing with painful cankers that lasts generally 1-2 weeks, the answer for you might be Canker Cover.

Canker Cover isn’t exactly the same idea as Kanka by Blistex or Orajel. It does provide a protective film over the canker area but the protection is much thicker than the liquid options. All 3 options provide some pain relief and they do each have their own level of stinging/burning when first applied. But the similarities stop there. Canker Cover is a white and orange colored tablet that is applied with the white side towards the sore with your finger for approximately 20 seconds. Though you may want to apply the tablet for more than 20 seconds to ensure sticking power. It claims within 30 minutes it will form a gel like patch over the canker but after a couple of times using this product, it does take a bit longer.

One strong recommendation is to apply this product at night as it doesn’t look quite flattening. Not to mention the gel patch can form to a big glop making it a bit difficult to speak. When first using this product it kept sticking to my finger rather than the canker. I had a nasty large canker in the back of my mouth next to the last tooth causing difficultly for the tablet to stay when I closed my mouth. Laying down and applying the tablet may make it easier. It did sting each time for about 5 minutes but did provide pain relief after wards. In the morning I was able to brush and eat but felt the gel patch starting to break up while eating. It’s not the most pleasant item to be mixed into your food. Not to mention if you try to open your mouth after it’s been closed for a while, you might feel a slight tug of the patch sticking to your mouth and teeth. It has a slight mint flavor and claims to freshen breath.

Once it was dissolved I did notice the canker was smaller in size and less painful than before. As for the claim of most sores heal with only one tablet may not work for everyone. It took about 3 tablets for the sore to be healed but is still a vast improvement over the normal 1-2 week healing period. Not to mention it’s great to be able to drink without causing further irritation to the area.

These are a bit more expensive in price ranging from $8.00-12.00 for a box of six. Currently stores such as: Price Chopper, CVS, Riteaid and the online store of http://www.amazon.com carry the product. I would recommend this product to canker suffers who have tried many remedies and haven’t find a product to help them.
