Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Review

Nutrition Facts, Peanut Butter

The other day I had the opportunity to have a peanut butter sandwich that used Skippy Natural Cream Peanut Butter. I had bought Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter quite often a couple years back, before I learned that the word natural was usually a marketing tool and not referring to how natural the ingredients were. As I remember the peanut butter tasted very good, although I couldn’t help but examine the nutrition facts and ingredients.

I try to eat peanut butter that has peanuts and salt, although some times I know that even organic peanut butters will use palm oil and so I don’t necessarily view this as a bad ingredient with other ingredients that you can find in a peanut butter. The ingredients that are in Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter are roasted peanuts, sugar, palm oil and salt. I was very pleased see that there were only four ingredients in the peanut butter but I couldn’t help be a bit disappointed to see that the peanut butter had added sugar. At this I examined the nutrition facts to see the amount of sugars that the peanut butter had and saw that it had three grams per serving, which was three times as much sugar as the peanut butter that I am use to eating, Adams Organic Creamy Peanut Butter.

The rest of the nutrition facts of the Skippy Naturals Creamy Butter were actually very similar to what I am use to in a peanut butter. It offers one hundred and eighty calories, two grams of fiber and seven grams of protein for every two tablespoons of the peanut butter, which is similar to the peanut butter I eat. In fact most of the nutrition facts were identical but like the sugars the sodium that was in the Skippy peanut butter was three times as much. Overall I can’t say that the nutrition facts were all that bad though.

Although I know that the Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter is not a peanut butter that I will be purchasing it will not be because of the taste, which as I mentioned above is actually very, very good. There are two main things that I don’t care to get that this peanut butter is and that is the fact that it is not organic and the fact that it comes in a plastic container, I like to stick to buying things that are organic and that are in glass jars if I can help it. I suppose when it came time to recommend, or not recommend, this peanut butter I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wanted a peanut butter that tasted great and that were not concerned about it coming in plastic or it not being organic. If those two things were important to someone then I would not recommend this peanut butter.
True I will not be getting this peanut butter for myself, I can honestly say though that I enjoyed the taste of the sandwich that I recently had that used it. Plus, I certainly thought it was very tasty all of the time that I used way back when.
