Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb Cake Review

Cobbler Recipe, Crumb Cake, Krusteaz

Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb Cake supreme mix was fairly easy to make. It was fun to make the Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb Cake with my son because it included a few more steps than the typical box mix. Your child may have fun swirling the coffee cake batter or sprinkling the cinnamon sugar mixture.

I also like the fact you can make an easy blueberry cobbler or blackberry cobbler recipe using the Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb Cake. I love cobbler! The cinnamon crumb cake is the perfect baked good to make for a church breakfast or a brunch at home. The Krusteaz muffins remind me of my favorite cinnamon sugar French Breakfast Puffs recipe, but are quicker to make.

Here are a few things I learned about Krusteaz Cinnamon Crumb Cake during my review:

No. 1: Krusteaz recipe for cinnamon crumb cake: To make the crumb cake, you just add 2/3 cup water and 1 egg with the batter mix. Grease the bottom of an 8 x 8 pan. Pour half the batter into the pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Drop about nine spoonfuls of batter on top; then sprinkle another 1/2 cup of the sugar topping. Use a knife to cut through the batter, making about 10 large circles. Then sprinkle the remaining sugar/cinnamon on top. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees, making sure to preheat the oven.

No. 2: Crumb cake muffin recipe: To make the Crumb cake muffin recipe, simply heat oven to 400 degrees. Spoon half the batter into 12 paper lined muffin cups. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter of each cup. Repeat layers, making sure to sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top. Bake 16 to 20 minutes.

No. 3: Blueberry cobbler using cake mix: To make the easy blueberry cobbler recipe, heat oven to 350 degrees. Toss the blueberries or black berries (4 cups) with 1/2 cup of the cake mix. Spoon berries into a 10 inch pie pan. In another bowl, stir together remaining cake mix, cinnamon topping, 6 tablespoons butter and 1 cup old-fashioned oats and 1 tablespoon water. Use mixer as needed. Pour batter over berries. Make 35 to 40 minutes. The Blueberry cobbler is so easy, and serves 8. Serve with ice cream if desired.

If you have never tried a crumb cake recipe using a cake mix, I recommend the Krusteaz cinnamon crumb cake supreme mix. It’s the perfect coffee cake for a brunch. The Krusteaz mix is also great for teaching your child how to bake a coffee cake when they first get started or if you are in a hurry.

I’m used to making coffee cakes using buttermilk, yogurt or sour cream. However, the Krusteaz coffee cake mix was moist. The cinnamon crumb cake recipe has nice chunks of brown sugar on top. It may be a little too sweet for some people, but if you are craving a thick piece of sugary crumb cake, this will hit the spot.

Cinnamon crumb cake contains 230 calories per serving and there are 12 servings in a package. It’s not a health food by any stretch, but if you want to increase the nutrition, make the easy blueberry or blackberry cobbler recipe.

For taste, I give the cinnamon Krusteaz cinnamon crumb cake mix a 4 out of 5.
