1960s Party Favor Ideas for Kids

1960s, Lava, Lava Lamp, Party Favor Ideas

Are you planning a 1960s themed party for your child? If so, you may want to check out my top 1960s themed party favor suggestions. Here they are:

1960s Toys

Based on my experience, 1960s themed toys make excellent party favors for kids. One of my favorite 1960s themed toys is the Peace Yo-Yo. The Peace Yo-Yo sells for less than $4 through major party supply shops. What I like about it is that it incorporates popular toys of the past with elements of modern technology. The yo-yo sports a multicolored peace sign and L.E.D. lights. Other 1960s toy options include bouncing balls and paddleboard games outfitted with peace signs and hearts.

1960s Tattoos

Temporary, 1960s tattoos are another party favor option that you may want to consider. The tattoos fit with the theme, are easy to obtain and tend to be inexpensive. For example, many party supply shops sell cases of temporary tattoos for less than $5. You may want to consider pairing the tattoos with floral hair wreaths, tie-dye bandanas, John Lennon style sunglasses, peace beads and other 1960s accoutrements suitable for children. Most of those items also sell through party supply shops for less than $5 a case.

1960s Style Crafts

Do you want a 1960s themed party favor that will give you the ultimate bang for your buck? Then you’ll definitely want to think about investing in a few 1960s themed crafts. In my experience, most kids will enjoy creating 1960s style tote bags, jewelry, keepsake boxes and photo frames.

Many of the items needed in order to create 1960s themed crafts are available through party supply shops or department stores for less than $20 a case. For example, a dozen peace tote bags will set your finances back by about $16. Of course you’ll also need to invest in some quick drying fabric paints as well. A box of those tends to cost around $5.

1960s Lava Lamps

Lava lamps were very popular in the 1960s so why not capitalize on that by handing out lava lamp themed party favors? There are several options to choose from. Among them are lava lamp key chains, miniature lava lamps and lava lamp crafts. In many instances, a case of lava lamp key chains will lighten your wallet by about $28.

1960s Candy

A loot bag filled with 1960s candy would also make a superlative 1960s party favor for kids. You may opt to make your own 1960s candy using candy molds or purchase ready-made treats instead. Believe it or not, there are candy companies that make adorable lava lamp lollipops as well as ones that sell crates of candy that were popular in the 1960s. Either one would undoubtedly bring a smile to your party guests’ faces.
