Benadryl Allergy and Sinus Medications Vs. Wal-Mart’s Equate Allergy & Sinus Medication

Benadryl, Private Label

Ever since I was a child, I have experienced serious allergy problems. After growing into adulthood, I have also developed sinus problems. Because, like millions of other Americans, I do not currently have health insurance, my only source of relief for my ongoing allergy condition is to take over- the- counter allergy and sinus medications. Until recently, more often than not, I would rely upon either Benadryl (R) Allergy ULTRATAB (R) tablets or Benadryl (R) Allergy & Sinus Headache caplets, which would generally offer relief from my symptoms for a few hours at a time. But when my mother recently gave me a box of Wal- Mart’s (R) brand of Equate (R) brand Allergy & Sinus Medication, I was very surprised to find that the Wal- Mart brand of allergy and sinus medication worked just as well, if not better than the Benadryl (R) products. Because my symptoms are a combination of allergies and sinus, when I take the Benadryl (R) Allergy ULTRATABS (R), quite often, I do not experience true relief from my condition. In fact, many times, after taking the Benadryl (R) Allergy ULTRATABS (R), after the tablets wear off, I seem to become more congested than I was to begin with. The Benadryl (R) Allergy & Sinus Headache Caplets actually seemed to alleviate my symptoms better than the standard Allergy tablets, although I usually did not suffer from headaches. The Wal- Mart (R) Equate (R) Allergy & Sinus Medication to me, seems to be somewhat of a generic cross between the two Benadryl (R) products.

The Equate (R) Allergy & Sinus Medication is just one of the many private- label products that are manufactured for and distributed by Wal- Mart (R). As I’ve come to find out, virtually all of the private- label Wal- Mart products are of very high- quality and generally cost much less than their name brand counterparts. Such is the case with the Equate (R) Allergy & Sinus Medication. Its normal retail price is substantially less than the name brand variety, although it is of equal quality. The first time that I took the Equate (R) brand Allergy & Sinus Medication, I immediately noticed that I began to feel relief from my allergy and sinus symptoms within approximately ten minutes. It also seemed to me that the Wal- Mart (R) product did not make me as drowsy as the name brand equivalent. The relief from my allergy and sinus symptoms that is provided by the Equate (R) medication is not only fast- acting, but it also seems to last longer and very importantly, I do not seem to experience the “after- effects” that I often experience with the name brand products.

Now, in no way am I disparaging the Benadryl (R) products, they work very well at alleviating allergy and sinus symptoms and are actually quite reasonably- priced. They are widely- recognized as being among the most effective products of their type. For my combination of allergy and sinus symptoms however, I have to state that the Wal- Mart (R) brand of Equate (R) Allergy & Sinus Medication seems to actually be somewhat more effective than the Benadryl (R) products. When the factor of cost is also taken into consideration, the Wal- Mart (R) brand becomes even more appealing. Since I still have some of each product on hand, I will probably utilize both products, but to be completely honest, I feel that overall, the Wal- Mart (R) brand of Equate (R) Allergy & Sinus Medication is a more preferrable product for my combination of allergy and sinus symptoms.
