Two great places to dance and enjoy drink specials are Cowboys 2000, 2929 E Kearney, and Midnight Rodeo, 1773 S Glenstone. Don’t let the titles fool you if you’re not into Country/Western music. It isn’t the only type of music you’ll hear. Variety is the spice of life at both exciting dance clubs. Ladies Night is Wednesday at Cowboys, where you’ll love to see hot male dancers. Saturday Night is live bull shows for anyone who loves a real cowboy. Midnight Rodeo has a great ladies night every Thursday, offering a grand dance floor, and great drink specials.
Nothing but hearty laughs,smiles, and fun is what you’ll find at Sir Gregory’s Billiards Cafe, 3626 S. Campbell, 417-883-5700. Shoot a game of pool, there’s plenty of tables. Impress your friends “American idol” style by participating in karaoke, and there is even a Comedy Club in the next room, with shows on select dates. See celebrated comics like Pauly Shore and Dustin Diamond from Saved by the Bell, who had their sold-out shows here. Share the laughs with your friends over appetizers and a pitcher of beer!
Downtown Springfield is immersed in history, and is also a chosen spot for college students looking for a fun night on the town. Several pubs, taverns, and cafes surround what we call Park Central Square, which is currently undergoing a renovation process to preserve the history and beauty, as well as introducing new and exciting businesses, shops, and more! The Gilloiz Movie Theater is one of them, re-opening in the near future, after being closed for many years. I remember seeing my first Clint Eastwood movie here as a child, and I’m glad to see it is making a comeback!
