Antique Shops in Tucson, Arizona

Ajo, Antique Furniture, Antique Mall, Antique Shops, Selling Used Books

I am suggesting the larger antique shops first because I know how much easier it is to browse for what you’re looking for in one large store rather than going from place-to-place to look in several small stores throughout Tucson.

Copper Country Antiques & Collectibles located at 5055 E. Speedway Blvd. is supposedly the largest antique store in Tucson. Here there are over 150 antique dealers all under one roof. They sell an extreme wide selection of antiques – including jewelry and artwork – both large and small. If you’re interested in Southwest décor this is the place to look, but by no means is that all they sell. Their items cover many eras from way back to the times we can’t remember to our fond memory days and now. They get new items in daily. To me it’s like an indoor flea market – everything all in one place – and everything very interesting too. This place is amazing and I highly recommend it. It’s so much fun to browse inside here. They even have worldwide shipping available. They are open 7 days of the week: Monday-Saturday:10:00 A.M.-6:00 P.M. and Sunday:11:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. and their telephone number is: 520-326-0167. You can even have a bite to eat indoors here almost every day of the week – except Sundays and Mondays. You can view their information and see pictures online at: www.coppercountryantiques.com

22nd Street Antique Mall is also very large antique shop, which is located at 5302 E. 22nd Street (west of Craycroft Road). I have never been in here but I heard the inside is absolutely huge and filled with lots of antiques – mostly furniture – large and small. You would imagine it would have to be huge inside since it’s called a mall and not just a shop. Along with selling antique furniture, they also sell artwork and everything antique needed to furnish a home. You can also find jewelry and many other small items here too. If you are definitely looking for antique furniture in Tucson to furnish your home, I would make this mall your first stop. Call: 520-514-5262 for the hours they are open.

American Antique Mall located at 3130 E. Grant Road is another fun antique mall to shop and browse in. They are open: Tuesday-Saturday: 10:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Here you’ll find a little bit of everything that’s antique – furniture, artwork, small and large household items, toys, jewelry, books, postcards, etc. from all eras and cultures. Inventory is added daily. Their telephone number is: 520-326-3070. You can view their information online at: www.americanantiquemall.com

Swanson’s Furniture is located at 4628 E. Speedway Blvd., not far from Copper Country Antiques & Collectibles above. They are open 7 days of the week: Monday-Saturday: 9:00 A.M.-6:00 P.M. and Sunday: 11:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. They sell mostly large furniture. You can also find a small variety of artwork, lamps, etc. here. They even provide a local, or cross-country moving service. Their telephone number is: 520-203-8784. You can view their information online at: www.swansonsfurniture.net

Annabell’s Attic, Inc. is located at 6178 E. Speedway Blvd. Annabell’s Attic is a large store with all the antiques you can imagine – furniture – large and small, art, glassware, collectibles – everything for your home, and even jewelry. They sell new furniture too. For me it’s always fun to peek in their window and see the old large toys they have, such as a children’s ride-in firetruck. All the items they sell are very clean. Call for their open hours. Their telephone number is: 520-571-8400. You can visit their website at: www.annabellsatticinc.com

Tom’s Fine Furniture, Antiques & Collectibles is located at 5454 E. Pima. This is another large antique store which sells every antique large to small – furniture, glassware, silver, crystal…. A fun place to spend some time antique shopping, or just browsing. It may look a bit shabby on the outside, but it’s fun on the inside. They are open 7 days of the week: Monday-Saturday: 10:00 A.M.-6:00 P.M. and Sunday: 11:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Their telephone number is:
520-795-5210.

I know that Bookmans Entertainment Exchange is known for selling used books, magazines, Cds, records, movies, games and puzzles and video games here in Tucson, but the Bookmans located on the east side of town at 6230 E. Speedway Blvd. also has a very large room full of antiques – large and small, plus they have small knick-knacks located on shelves throughout the store and some furniture, electronic products and musical instruments for sale located throughout the store also. This Bookmans is located in the same shopping center as Annabell’s Attic (one of the above). For those of you who are familiar with Bookmans most people sell their similar items to the store and receive store credit (cash back will be a lot less) which you can accumulate and therefore then what you buy won’t cost you anything, or close to it. If you are looking for an antique book all Bookman locations are the place to look. You can even call them ahead of time, to ask if they have what you are looking for – including a book. An employee will go out on the floor to look for your item. The telephone number for this Bookmans location is: 520-748-9555. The other 2 Bookmans Entertainment Exchange locations are:
1930 E. Grant Road; telephone number: 520-325-5767; and 3733 W. Ina Road; telephone number:520-579-0303. All Bookmans stores are a fun place to be at night because they stay open later than most stores. Their hours are 7 days a week: Monday-Sunday: 9:00 A.M.-10:00 P.M. You can read all of Bookmans information and events online at: www.bookmans.com

Since the weather is sunny here most of the time, one of the best places to shop for antiques in Tucson is at the Tanque Verde Swap Meet which is outdoors. The Tanque Verde Swap Meet is located at 4100 S. Palo Verde Road between E. Ajo Way and E. Irvington Road (near Interstate 10) and their telephone number is: 520-294-4252. They are open are weekends throughout the year – including Fridays and during the holidays they are open more often. During the holidays you can even see a parade there. Their regular hours are: Friday – 3:00-11:00 P.M.; Saturdays and Sundays: 7:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M. There aren’t any entrance, or parking fees here, which is great. Hundreds of sellers cover it’s 19 acres of land and each week the sellers and/or items for sale can change. This is a great shopping place to frequent – for both old and new items. I like this Tanque Verde Swap Meet so much better than going to yard sales because it saves leg work and time since so many sellers are all in one place. Here you’ll find the same deals, or maybe even better ones. I’m sure you can imagine all the different furniture, toys, knick-knacks, clothes, etc. – both old and new, you will see for sale on 19 acres of land. Even vendors from Mexico come to the Tanque Verde Swap Meet to sell their items there – including bags of fresh fruit and vegetables. If you decide to buy something from an individual seller while you are there, try offering them a cheaper price first. Sometimes they do take your offer. Snack bars – including a 24 flavored soft-serve ice cream stand, a cafeteria an ATM machine and several restrooms are within the seller’s areas also. They also have stroller rentals and amusement rides and a little televised theater for the children. This is definitely a fun place to shop and be at on a nice Tucson day. You can view all information about this swap meet at: www.tanqueverdeswapmeet.com
