Cox High Speed Internet: An Awesome ISP

Digital Phone, High Speed Internet, ISP

Cox High Speed Internet is probably one of the best broadband ISP’s I have ever used for connecting to the Internet. Cox does have a bit of down time once in awhile (especially in the mornings), but the down time I have experienced with them has never been as bad as any other ISP I have tried, and it is to be expected somewhat in a busy area, since all cable connections go through a shared connection (the speed depends on how many people are subscribed to the same cable service, and using the same line you are using).

The thing that makes Cox one of the best broadband ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) is their speed. The speed of the Cox High Speed Internet broadband service is one of the fastest available, with a Premiere Service option that gives you up to a 12 Mbps download rate. This highest rate is available for $56.95 a month at the high end, and only $22.20 per month with their “Cox Combo,” which includes cable and digital phone services, which are also exceptional.

For those who do not need the extra speed, there are slower and less expensive services available through Cox High Speed. One of those is the Preferred Service, which gives you a maximum download rate of 7 Mbps, which is still exceptionally faster than many other services out there, including DSL. This option is $49.95 a month at the high end, and $15.20 a month with the Cox Combo.

A third option that is available through Cox is called the Value Service which offers a maximum download speed of 1.5 Mbps (similar to DSL). This Value Service is great for those who need something faster than the painfully slow dial-up, but either do not use the Internet much, or do not want to spend the extra money (although the Value Service actually costs more than the best service available when you have the Cox Combo). This option is available for one price only, at $26.95 per month.

All Cox High Speed Internet users also get quite a few extras. Each user gets a Cox Security Suite, which includes Anti-Virus, Parental Control, Pop-Up Blocker, Anti-Spyware, Firewall, Spam Blocker, and Anti-Phishing Software. This is a great system, and free for all Cox High Speed Internet users.

Also included for free are seven email accounts, webmail access, a 10 MB website for each of the seven users on your account with 300 MB bandwidth for each, a portal homepage, and exceptional 24/7 technical support.

I have not had to use their technical support services very many times in the several years I have used the service, but each time I have, it was a pleasant experience. The Cox support staff always answer the phone quickly, and always stay with you to get the problem resolved, even when it is difficult.

A couple of times they even helped me with problems that were caused by another company that was unwilling to help. For example, when I got Vonage, it caused my fax machine to stop working. Vonage made me wait quite a long time, then were not able to help me after the wait. I called Cox, and they were able to help me through the long set-up process to fix the problem. Even when I have a strange request, they seem to know exactly what to do, and can always walk me through the process. Cox has a technical support staff that seems to know absolutely everything there is to know about their system, and any other service that may be used with their system, both directly and indirectly.

I am not affiliated with Cox in any way, and do not personally benefit from them doing well. I simply love almost everything about the Cox High Speed Internet service (and the entire Cox Combo, for that matter), which is saying a lot, as I tend to be very picky.
