Gather Materials
Go to your local Walmart, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or other craft store. There you will be able to find an abundance of fake flowers, marbles, vases, and other accessories. They are often in the same section so luckily you do not need to spend hours at the store.
Choose a Vase
You will first need to pick out a vase that will fit in the space you have chosen to place the centerpiece. Do not choose one that will overwhelm the space, but do not choose one that will look tiny compared to the table or mantel you plan on placing the decoration on. A plain, clear vase usually works best. You do not need a vase that is overly decorative or intricate, because you will be adding your own flair to it.
Choose Flowers
Next, pick out some fake flowers. Think about a theme or idea you are trying to portray. This could be a beach theme, a holiday theme, a seasonal theme, or a theme based on colors incorporated in your home. Choose a few flowers that are comparable in size to the vase you have chosen. Also choose the number of flowers based on the size of your vase. You could also use fillers such as a grass-like material instead of choosing multiple flowers.
