Supplies needed to make a gardener’s gift basket:
– (1) Oval plastic plant pot
– (5) Flower seed packets
– (2) Handheld yard tools (trowel, spade, cultivator, etc.)
– (1) Pair of gardening gloves
– (1) Decorative yard sign or statue (stained glass sun catcher, yard stone, etc.)
– Hot glue gun
– Shredded paper basket fill
– Floral Styrofoam
– Plastic cable ties
– Artificial flowers
– Scotch tape
You can make a gardener’s gift basket for $ 20.00 or less, but it will look like you spent a lot more. Believe it or not, you can find many of the supplies for your gardener’s gift basket at your local Dollar Store.
How to make a gardener’s gift basket – STEP 1
Glue in the base – Use the glue gun to hot glue the floral Styrofoam to the bottom of the plant pot.

Arrange the yard tools and yard sign – Tallest items are always placed at the back of a gift basket. Place the yard sign/statue in the back of the pot – push it into the Styrofoam to secure it. Tie one cable tie around each of the yard tools and then, press it into the Styrofoam on one side of the yard sign/statue. Do the same with other yard tool, but on the opposite side of the yard sign/statue.

Arrange the seed packets – Fan out the flower seed packets and tape them together in the back, then tape them, up high, on the inside of the plant pot.

Complete the finishing touches – Place the gardening gloves attractively in an empty spot. Fill in empty spaces with the paper fill, and then arrange a few artificial sporadically in the basket. This gives it a little color and life to your gift.
