Adrenal Glands, Morgellons Disease, Phototherapy

In today’s world it is extremely important to look good, so that we can feel good about ourselves.
This is the reason behind the growing popularity of skin cleansing creams and lotions. Everyone is
looking to get that perfect look and a perfect clean face. But there are few things which constantly
haunt us. There are few things that we find it almost difficult to deal with. Among them, the most
common problem faced by people around the world is the white spots. In medical terms the white
spots are known as vitiligo or leucoderma. Leucoderma is a kind of skin disease. In this disease, the
skin becomes white in color. It looks as if the skin has lost its color. It usually looks like white spots
on skin which grows big with time. The white patches that forms on the skin is usually devoid of any
pigments.

There are basically two reasons behind the formation of white spots on the skin. It could be either
due to environment reasons or due to genetic reason. People suffering from disease of autoimmune
usually become the victim of leucoderma. Autoimmune disease is related to the adrenal glands, which
is basically a hormone producing gland. Corticosteroid is a hormone that is secreted through the
adrenal glands. So, the person whose adrenal glands are unable to produce the required amount of
corticosteroid suffers from a disease called adernocortical insufficiency. The deficiency of corticosteroid
leads to the formation of white patches on the skin. This is the reason behind why doctor recommends
corticosteroid creams. It is the most common type of treatment of leucoderma.

There is also a natural way to cure the disease leucoderma, which is to expose the skin to sunlight for
prolonged duration. When the skin is exposed to sunlight for long duration, the cells that are crucial
for the pigmentation of the skin become active. It means that the cells return back to their original
state. There is also an alternative for sunlight. A person suffering from leucoderma can also go for
artificial phototherapy.

The cells that we are talking about are known as melanocytes. They are responsible for the dark
pigmentation of the skin. In a recent development, medical scientists are now able to transplants
these cells. Now it has become possible to use these cells from some other part of the for the purpose
of transplantation. When the affected skin area is treated with the active melanocytes, the white spots
on skin vanishes slowly and steadily.

There are some cosmetics which can be used to hide the white spots. But it is highly recommended
that we should go for the medical treatment to completely cure the disease, otherwise it may turn into
a widespread and uncontainable disease.

As we said that this disease also results from genetic reasons, therefore it becomes quite difficult to
prevent it. Hence, proper and high quality treatment must be followed. Person suffering from this
disease usually suffer from psychological effects like low self esteem, embarrassment, and extreme
frustration.
