How to Prepare More Creative Desserts

Cookie Cutters, Low Fat Desserts

Desserts can be plain and boring or they can be creative. Making your desserts more creative isn’t that hard. In fact, creative desserts are really easy to prepare. The following tips are meant to be guidelines to help you to prepare more creative desserts.

How to Prepare More Creative Desserts Tip #1: Use Chocolate Serving Bowls

Chocolate serving bowls are very creative and are a wonderful way to present desserts. This creative tip can be prepared in two different ways.

The Balloon Technique

First you will need to melt some chocolate. It doesn’t matter which kind you use, but it does matter what the temperature is. You will need to allow the chocolate to cool a few minutes after it has melted in order to keep the balloon from popping. Before you dip the balloon in the chocolate you will need to pour some chocolate onto some wax paper, making a circle big enough to be the base for your balloon. Next, take your inflated balloon and dip it into the chocolate rolling it back and forth and side to side so that the entire bottom of the balloon is covered. Place the balloon onto the chocolate base and allow the chocolate to harder in the fridge. Once the chocolate has hardened, pop the balloon and peel it out of the chocolate bowl.

Muffin Cup Technique

Take some silicone muffin cups and brush the insides heavily with melted chocolate. Place the cups into the refrigerator and allow them to dry. Once the chocolate has dried, peel the silicone cup away and serve.

Uses

You can use these chocolate bowls for so many different desserts. You can fill them with ice cream, chocolate mousse, a cream cheese filling, etc. You can even use them to serve a sweet dip. Your family will love this creative dessert tip.

How to Prepare More Creative Desserts Tip #2: Use Cookie Cutters

Not only do cookie cutters make cookies more creative, but cookie cutters can be used to make other desserts creative as well.

Individual Cakes

Don’t get me wrong, cupcakes are wonderful, but individual cakes are creative. To make these creative little desserts, simply take the same shape of cookie cutter, in several different sizes, and cut cakes out of a pre-made sheet cake. Once you have all the cakes cut out, frost them one at a time and stack them like a wedding cake. Your guests will love this creative dessert.

Cake Decorating

If you choose to stick with a regular sized cake, but still want something really creative, lay the cookie cutters on top of the frosting and sprinkle on colored sugar, powdered sugar, or even sprinkles. Carefully lift the cookie cutters off the cake and poof, a creative dessert. This is a wonderful tip to use on your anniversary. Choose heart shaped cookie cutters, overlap them, and sprinkle on red sugar.

How to Prepare More Creative Desserts Tip #3: Decorate with Candy

Sometimes all it takes to make a dessert more creative is to use candy to decorate the dessert. With candy you can turn cupcakes into animals, you can create hearts on cakes, and so much more. The key is to listen to your creative side and think about the occasion that this dessert will be used for. For example, on your anniversary you could turn a basic cake into a creative masterpiece by decorating it with your partner’s favorite candy. For someone’s birthday, spell out their name in candy that’s their favorite color. With candy you can also take a boring sheet cake and make it into a 3-D cake. For example make a forest cake by building trees out of gum drops and adding gummy bears.
