How to Trim Nose Hair

Dry Nose, Female Hormones, Nose Hair, Trim

If you haven’t had to deal with nose hair yet you are in luck–but don’t count your blessings just yet! Nose hair growth tends to spike when men begin to reach a point in their lives in which the female hormones that are common in their system begin to taper off and male hormones become overabundant. In other words, if you haven’t already had to trim your nose hair–you will soon! It’s basically inevitable, so you might as well know how to trim your nose hair effectively and efficiently before you start.

Choose a Pair of Nose Hair Trimmers:

Choosing a pair of nose hair trimmers is actually a kind of awkward time if you do so in the middle of the retailer such as Wal-Mart or Target. Think about the options that you want in a nose hair trimmer before you head out to the store so that when you get there you can shop a bit more discretely. Some options that you might want to consider when shopping for nose hair trimmers include–light, size, weight, batter or electric operated, safety features and suction or vacuum.

Clean Nose Before You Begin:

Before you actually begin trimming your nose hair it is important to clean the nose out thoroughly. Begin by blowing your nose and then wipe clean the area around the lower nostrils where the hair is growing. Clean and dry nose hairs are the easiest to trim. You can use a Q-tip to clean the nose as well and to help break the hairs away from the nasal cavity.

Work In the Bathroom or Other Well Lighted Area:

Making sure that you have adequate lighting will assure that you do not clip your nose when you trim your nose hair. While some nose hair trimmers will have a light attached to the clipper it is still important to trim your nose hair in a well lighter area to avoid accidental nicking or cutting the nose hair too close.

Do Not Over Trim Your Nose Hair:

Over trimming your nose hair will reduce the protection that nose hairs offer from the entrance of unwanted or harmful particles that travel into the body through the air. Nose hairs are actually there for a reason and we all have them so it is important not to over trim. You do not want to shave your nose hair off completely as this will increase your risk of infection and colds. Simply use the nose hair trimmers to trim the nose hair that is hanging out of the nose or that is overly bushy. Leave some nose hair in the nose for protection.

Finishing Up:

To finish up your nose hair trimming, use a wash cloth or a cotton swab to gently clean out any small hair pieces from the nose. A damp wash cloth can be used to gently wipe away any nose hairs that were left behind after trimming. Remember that you should not over trim your nose hairs so it is best only to trim your nose hairs about once a week or less often as needed!
