How to Eat a Naga Jolokia Pepper

The Naga Jolokia Pepper (also known as the Bhut Jolokia or The Ghost Pepper) is the hottest pepper in the world with an SHU (Scoville Heat Unit) level of over 1,000,000. This is extremely spicy, as other peppers, such as the Habanero Pepper, have an SHU level of around 350,000. If people could meet someone who could eat a Naga Jolokia pepper with no trouble, they would be shocked. Want to shock people to show them that you can handle the heat of this pepper? Even if you don’t want to shock people, the health benefit of eating this pepper is phenomenal. If you want to be able to eat this pepper, we are going to give you some tips on how to build your pepper tolerance and work your way up to the mighty Naga Jolokia.

Eat Peppers with dinner each night.

As you keep on eating peppers, you will build a tolerance and the pepper won’t become as spicy anymore. After you have dominated this pepper, move onto an even hotter pepper, and try some hot sauces. Tabasco sauce has an SHU level of about 5,000 so this won’t work. Try ordering some stronger sauces online. As you move onto a pepper or sauce with heat you aren’t used to, use it in moderation. Use a thin slice of the pepper or one drop of the sauce. As you do this for a few days, you will end up using more and more. Eventually, you will dominate that pepper or sauce as well. If you are new to peppers, try Jalapeno Peppers. Use tiny pieces and work your way up each day. Get some Habanero Tabasco Sauce (not as hot as habanero peppers, these only have an SHU level of 8,000) and use it on food in moderation. After mastering those two sauces, you are ready to work your way up to using Habanero Peppers. Use these in moderation. If you keep on eating these peppers, you will dominate these as well. Eventually, over a few years, you will end up mastering all peppers and that is when you are ready for the Naga Jolokia.

I have finally worked my way up, and I am ready for the Naga Jolokia. Now what?

The Naga Jolokia Pepper is extremely spicy, so be careful. After obtaining the pepper, take the tiniest piece possible and eat it with a cracker or anything else. If the heat isn’t too bad, use a small chunk in your meal. The Naga Jolokia is twice as hot as the Red Savina Pepper (with an SHU level of 500,000) so you probably haven’t experienced heat this intense before. After dinner, your mouth will probably be on fire. Drink as much milk as you can to get rid of the heat, because water will just spread the heat around. Now continue to use this pepper on meals and slowly increase the amount every 1-2 weeks. After a while, you will have mastered the Naga Jolokia! This is a huge accomplishment and you should be congratulated, because some people, believe it or not, can’t even handle Tabasco Sauce! If you end up dominating the Naga Jolokia, many people will be proud of you.

I can’t find Naga Jolokia Peppers in my supermarket. Where could I purchase them?

Habanero peppers are usually the hottest peppers that supermarkets carry. If your supermarket doesn’t have Naga Jolokia Peppers, your going to have to travel to a place that sells them, or you could simply order them online.

Whats next after mastering the Naga Jolokia?

There are tons of hot sauces you can order online that are twice as hot as any Naga Jolokia Pepper. There are some reserves out there that have an SHU level of 16,000,000! This is the hottest any product can get. If you actually end up mastering a hot sauce with an SHU of 16,000,000, you will officially be our hero.
