Pregnancy Symptoms that Could Be Caused from Something Else

Implantation Bleeding, Pregnancy Symptoms

So you may or may not be pregnant. That is something myself nor any online article will be able to determine. It’s easy to search online, find symptoms to an illness, pregnancy, diseases and feel like you definitely have it. Some people will make themselves believe they have something, while others seriously do need medical attention but think their symptoms are nothing to worry about.

As always if you have persisting symptoms and are at all concerned about anything, the best thing to do is to go to the doctors. If you really think you’re pregnant, spending hours online reading forum threads, articles, and medical sites are not going to give you an accurate diagnosis. But, it can give you an idea of what you are facing. Step one would be to take a pregnancy test as early as you can by what the test allows.

So you’re thinking you may be pregnant, but then again your symptoms could be from other things. Here’s a list of the pregnancy symptoms, but what other conditions they are connected to.

Spotting that you are sure is not caused by your period
So you start spotting and maybe have a little dreaded cramping. You may think it is implantation bleeding, but it could be from other causes. It could be due to a change in your birth control pill. Many women spot anyway when taking a birth control pill, but it doesn’t mean they are pregnant. Infection is also a culprit to spotting. You may have a yeast infection or a sexually transmitted infection. If you are pregnant and you are spotting, consult your doctor right away. It could be a sign of a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy

Delayed Menstruation –
Well first of all, it happens. A lot of times this is caused from hormonal changes, weight loss and weight gain, and stress. Evaluate your recent days. Have you been really stressed out lately? Your period could be on pause for a little while when you are going through tough times. As you know that missing your period is a very big sign of pregnancy, your period can also play fun games with you. Just when you least expect it, it’ll come back full force. Really delayed menstruations can also be from malnutrition or an eating disorder. Diabetes, thyroid deficiency, and depression can also cause a delayed menstruation.

Swollen Breasts –

This is also a common symptom. Swollen breasts could mean that you are about to get your period as well. You may feel they are swollen for a good week or so before you even get your period. Breast cancer can have this symptom as well.

Nausea –
The classic morning sickness doesn’t always happen in the morning. But if you start to feel these symptoms it could be because of other reasons. Perhaps you had food poisoning or caught the flu or a virus. I have known some viruses that don’t give any other symptoms other than just vomiting and nausea. You won’t have a headache or a sore throat or a stuffy nose, but you’ll just puke non-stop. It could just be a nasty bug. If you can’t keep your food down, go to the doctor before you get yourself more sick.

Frequent Urination
If you find yourself constantly using the bathroom, it may not necessarily be a symptom of pregnancy. You aren’t going to get frequent urination the moment of conception either. This happens after approximately two months after conception. If you find yourself visiting the bathroom a lot either your diet has changed where you are intaking a lot more liquid (some foods have a lot of water in it too such as watermelon) or you could have a urinary tract infection. You may be thinking, “Well I just had sex and suddenly the next day I am using the bathroom every 30 minutes.”

Well you are suppose to wash and/or urinate very shortly after sex. This is to keep bacterias from going up and causing an infection. Perhaps you did not do either and are now suffering cause of it. Urinary tract infections are very common with women as well.

Craving specific foods
There can be a number of reasons you suddenly crave something. Just today I had a crazy craving for Chili Cheese Fries which is something I have maybe had once in my life, and have never thought of myself to have a need to eat it again. Cravings can come due to something as simple as advertising or what we hear. Maybe without even realizing you heard a co-worker mention how she had the most wonderful Rocky Road Ice Cream with a waffle bowl. When you get off work suddenly you have a craving of chocolate, creamy ice-cream and not know why. Little subliminal messages throughout the day can be just enough. Maybe there was a smell at one time of the day that reminded you of mozzarella sticks dunked deep in marinara sauce.

TV can also play a big part in this. A lot of times we are only half ways paying attention to the TV as we surf the net or clean house, but advertisements sometimes stick. You may suddenly be craving that double bacon cheeseburger with sourdough bread you normally never thought of.

Another reason people crave foods is because their body has its signals mixed up. You could be malnourished or missing a chemical in your body that your body is craving, hence you crave the foods your body remembers has what you need. For example, Serotonin makes you feel good. But if you are low in it, your body wants more. Sugar and carbohydrates may be a quick fix to this and your body is craving it.

If you have a restricted diet where you are neglecting certain types of foods, you are more prone to craving certain foods as well since you are missing something in your diet.

Get yourself checked

You know yourself best. And if you are pretty sure it is possible you are pregnant, don’t let some website with a list of symptoms get you worked up or excited. Instead, get yourself checked either by taking a home pregnancy test first and then consulting your doctor. This list was not to convince you that you are not pregnant, but to remind you that it is just a list and there could be all sorts of reasons why you are feeling the way you are feeling. It is best to find out the facts and what is really going on with your body. If you are really sure you could be pregnant finding out as soon as you can so you can take care of that growing child right away is always good practice.
