The Best Tutorial Sites for Visual Basic.NET

.net, Visual Basic

Visual Basic.NET is an interesting subject that more people should explore. In this essay I will explore three different tutorial sites and review them. I will also give my opinion on my favorite part of the site. If you are just beginning in Visual Basic.NET these sites can be a useful to you as far as how to decipher code or create a project. I hope you find them as useful as I did.

For my first tutorial resource I used the Google research engine to do a basic search for Visual Basic.NET tutorial sites. It gave me a list of several sites. The site that I reviewed is called ProgrammingTutorials.com. The URL for this site is http://www.programmingtutorials.com/vbnet.aspx. This site gives you 18 choices anywhere from writing your first VB.NET program, free VB.NET tutorials, using Visual Basic.NET and getting started with Visual Basic.NET. This is a very informative site and the links that it allows you to access are extremely informative for a beginner. My favorite link that I explored was actually examples of codes for Visual Basic.NET. It gives you a search box that you can type what you want to do and it will give you the code. I typed in clear and it asked me what I wanted to clear in my form. It then gave me the code that I could use to do this.

The second tutorial site that I discovered was also through a Google search. I used a basic search for Visual Basic.NET tutorials. The URL for this site is http://www.startvbdotnet.com/. This .NET Website is aimed at developers who are new to Visual Basic .NET and ASP.NET. It gives you options such as user controls, VB language, resources, multithreading, and file handling. It gives you definitions of different aspects of Visual Basic.NET as well as examples of codes. I found this to be quality information and particularly enjoyed the section on multithreading. It tells you step by step how to accomplish this and gives you the codes as well.

The last tutorial site that I found interesting was called developer.com. I found this site using Google search for Visual Basic.NET also. The URL for this site is http://www.developer.com/net/vb/article.php/3464411. This site contains articles with information about working with variables, using functions and arguments, and repeating code. It also has a basic introduction for beginners. The article starts off with instructions how to create a basic HELLO WORLD program and gradually add to it as the articles progress. It is easy to follow the instructions and it shows you how the code is supposed to look when you are done. My favorite article on this site was the one on repeating code. It teaches you how to create loops and how you can keep track of how many times you have gone through the loop. It also explains how to create If Then statements and when to use them.

These tutorial sites are very helpful if you are a student or if you are just interested in Visual Basic. There are many other free sites out there for you to choose from. Just search from any search engine for Visual Basic.NET tutorials and you will find vast amounts of information that could be useful to you. Good Luck.
