Top Nightclubs and Bars in Reno, Nevada

Sports Video Games

Going out in another city is always fun and entertaining. But you are never quite sure where to go, how prices are, and what the crowds are like. I went out with a group of friends in Reno, Nevada and here is a summary of what I thought about the 7 nightclubs/bars that we went to. Some were really fun and some I would not go back to again.

The Cube Bar is located in the Peppermill hotel and casino overlooking the casino floor. I really enjoyed this one a lot. The crowd here is basically from 21 years old to 35 years old. But there were a few older than that in here also. It is a nightclub that is very popular with the tourists and has high energy. There is usually a rock band or soft rock band playing here Thursdays through Saturdays. Other nights of the week they have DJs on occasion. They have a full selection of whatever cocktail or beer that you are looking for. The prices are average for the Reno area.

Q’s Billiard Room located at 3350 South Virginia Street was another favorite place of mine. Every time that we went to this place they were busy with people of all ages. The prices are super cheap here and as you drink you can play pool on one of their 15 well taken care of pool tables. We ordered quite of few pitchers of beer and chicken wings and were surprised when we received the bill. Cheap prices, clean and fun atmosphere and friendly service will definitely get me to visit this bar again the next time I am in Reno.

The Little Waldorf Saloon located at 1161 North Virginia Street was a cute little bar that served over 40 hand crafted beers. For entertainment they had WII tournaments nightly on different sports video games. This is the perfect bar if you are looking to watch a sports game because they have large screen TVs for the patrons to watch. Talking with the customers here the majority of them were locals, but they were really friendly to tourists.

Also the Little Waldorf Saloon has some of the best burgers that I have ever had! They have choices like the Jiffy Burger with Jack cheese, bacon and peanut butter, the Thunder Humper with chili cheese and onions, the Bravo Avo Burger with pepper jack, sour cream, avocados and green chiles and many others. Also make sure you try a side of their garlic or cheesy fries. They are so good. The food is amazing, prices are not too high, and the atmosphere is great for sports fanatics.

The Vintage Court Bar located in Harrah’s Casino is the perfect spot for an intimate glass of wine or a relaxing after dinner drink. Here they serve a selection of over 30 wines that are displayed in a wine cellar setting. This is a very peaceful laid back bar and not a place to go if you are looking for a fun and wild night. The prices here are a little higher, but a good place for a relaxing quiet evening with your loved one.

Club Underground located at 555 East 4th Street was a place I wish I could have wrapped up and brought back to my city. When you get there, don’t let the outside scare you. It looks kind of creepy but it is nice in the inside and Reno’s Premier Live Music Venue, a great place for anyone that loves live music. They are known to have some of the best local, regional and national bands in their 4,000 square foot showroom that is surrounded by a large hardwood dance floor. The stage has great lighting and effects. If it is too loud inside for you, you can head out to the outdoor patio and still be able to hear the music inside. The prices were a little higher but the entertainment was the best.

We walked into the Bahia Nightclub on 432 East 4th street and it seemed like a good place for anyone that likes Latin music. People were dancing the samba, salsa and merenque. We could not get served a drink in here though. We stood at the bar for 15 minutes as the bartender was talking to friends. She even looked at us a few times but never came over to check what we wanted to drink. Maybe we just hit it on a bad night, I am not sure but no matter what it is not a type of bar that I would stop back in again, It is not only because of the service, it was just the whole vibe of the bar was a little different.

The Tronix Bar is a place that I would never want to walk in to again. Located at 303 Kietzke Street, this is one of the dirtiest bars that I have been in. The crowd was very young wild and drunk, they had broken bottles on the floor and outside the building, the bathroom floor was full of toilet paper and hand towels, the music was loud with the speaking uncomfortably booming, and the bartenders spent more time hanging out and talking then serving the customers. We had one drink and left. But in the meantime we met a pretty cool local regular here and he said the service and bar is like this the majority of the time. He told me that the bar has been robbed before and gets really wild with stupid drunk people a lot. Not a recommendation for a place to go and have fun at.

I hope this review helps for all of you that are looking to go out and have fun in Reno. Most of these bars are within walking distance of the casinos. If I had to pick my ultimate favorite spot of the night, I would have to say it was Club Underground. The bands that they had playing the night we went were really good! But check them out for yourselves and see what you think!
