Lime Juice

With spring upon us, margarita weather is just around the corner! How about a margarita tasting party to kick off the summer? Drink up!

Top Shelf Margarita (From Drinksmixer.com)

We’ll start simple. This one’s for those of you with expensive taste.

½ oz Cointreau® orange liqueur

½ oz Grand Marnier® orange liqueur

2 ½ oz sweet and sour mix

1 oz lime juice

1 ½ oz tequila

ice

salt

lime garnish

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and shake. Serve in a salt-rimmed glass with a lime garnish. Enjoy!


Key West Margarita

This margarita mixes all the staple flavors of the Conch Republic: pina colada, melon, orange, and of course lime!

1 ½ oz tequila

1 oz melon liqueur

1 oz pina colada mix

½ oz lime juice (or ½ oz Margarita Texas Mix)

½ oz orange juice

1 dash grenadine

½ cup crushed ice

Mix all ingredients in a blender on slow speed until smooth. Serve in a chilled glass. For a fun drink garnish make a fruit kabob on a toothpick with an orange slice, melon ball, and cherry!


Blackberry Margaritas

Sweet and sour put together for one delicious cocktail. Don’t serve this one in a salt-rimmed glass…break out the sugar! (Makes 2 margaritas…or one big one!)

1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries (thawed)

¼ cup tequila

2 tablespoons orange liqueur

¼ cup lime juice

2 cups crushed ice

lime or orange juice and sugar for the glass

Blend the berries and juice in the blender for 10-12 seconds. Add alcohols and ice and blend until smooth. Prepare a chilled serving glass with sugared rim by dipping rim into lime or orange juice and then into sugar. Carefully pour drink into serving glass and garnish with blackberries and lime slice.

Austin Margarita (AKA Mexican Martini) (From allrecipes.com)

If you’re willing to put a little more effort into getting an amazing margarita, this one is worth the time! This margarita’s crafter says that the secret is using freshly squeezed juices. For the Mexican spin, add pimento-stuffed olives!

½ cup ice cubes

1 ½ oz silver tequila

1 ½ oz Cointreau®

2 teaspoons Grand Marnier® liqueur (optional)

1 ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice

1 ½ oz freshly squeezed orange juice

1 ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

3 pimento-stuffed olives (for Mexican variation)

No blender necessary! Pour the alcohols over the ice in a margarita glass. Add the juices to taste. Garnish with olives, if desired.

Guava Margarita (From Foodnetwork.com)

A great spin on the classic margarita, the guava margarita is sure to please! This recipe makes two margaritas…one for now, and one for ten minutes from now!

Ice cubes

½ cup fresh lime juice

¾ to 1 cup premium silver tequila

3 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur

3 tablespoons simple syrup

1 cup guava juice

lime wedges or slices

For a super garnish on this margarita, start by rimming the glass with salt (use alcohol or lime to wet the edge, then dip in salt) and then coating a lime wedge in salt too. Store the garnished glass in the freezer while you prepare the delicious concoction.

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve in chilled, salt-rimmed glasses. Enjoy the sweet taste of summer!

Chocolate Margarita

This one’s from my own kitchen. There are many variations on the web, but I like mine the best. The chocolate rim really sets this drink off!

Ice cubes (4-5)

1 ½ oz tequila

1 oz Godiva® liqueur

1 ½ tablespoons chocolate syrup

1 oz cream

2 oz orange juice

Chocolate rim:

Crushed Oreos® or shaved bits of chocolate

Chocolate syrup

First, rim the glass with chocolate syrup by smearing it around the glass, then dip the rim into the crushed Oreos® or shaved chocolate.

In a shaker, shake all of the ingredients together (this drink is too delicate for a blender!) Pour the elixir into your decorated glass and enjoy!

Creamsicle Margarita (From margaritatexas.com)

Remember when you thought the creamsicle couldn’t get any better? Well, it just did. Adulthood has its perks.

1 oz. margarita mix

3 oz orange juice

1 ½ oz gold tequila

1 scoop vanilla ice cream

6 oz crushed ice

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Garnish with a slice of orange!

 

Pomegranate Margarita (From recipegoldmine.com)

A delicious treat! Pomegranate’s healthy benefits make this margarita extra sweet!

3 oz white tequila

1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

2 oz fresh pomegranate juice

2 oz triple sec

1 tablespoon grenadine

2 thin curls of lime zest

pomegranate seeds

Moisten the rims of the serving glasses with lime juice and roll in salt. Pour the juices and alcohols over ice in a shaker. Swirl the mixture until chilled then pour into serving glasses (strain ice, if desired). Drop in a few pomegranate seeds and garnish with lime zest.

Kiwi Margarita (From food.com)

Talk about a summertime treat! Kiwi is a crowd pleaser and always refreshing!

½ cup sugar

½ cup triple sec

½ cup gold tequila

½ cup silver tequila

2 large kiwis, peeled

1 cup fresh lemon juice

½ cup fresh lime juice

crushed ice, to fill blender

Prepare your salt-rimmed glass. Pour all ingredients into blender, then fill blender with crushed ice. Blend well. Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with lime or kiwi wedges. Delicious!

Ruby Red Grapefruit Margarita (From Foodnetwork.com Courtesy of Emeril Lagasse)

Sweet and sour, this is margarita sets itself apart from any other drink. This is sure to be the talk of the party. Be prepared for special requests for years to come! (This recipe makes 6 margaritas.)

1 wedge Ruby Red grapefruit

coarse kosher salt

6 oz tequila

1/3 cup Ruby Red vodka

¼ cup simple syrup

1 cup Ruby Red grapefruit juice

¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice

4 cups ice cubes

2 crosswise slices Ruby Red grapefruit, cut into quarters

Prepare your serving glasses first by using the grapefruit wedge to moisten the rims. Dip the rims into the salt to coat. In a blender, combine the tequila, vodka, simple syrup, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and ice. Puree until smooth. Pour the drinks into the glasses and garnish with grapefruit quarters. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
