Patio Beef and Bean Burrito – Frozen Foods Review

Burritos, Frozen Foods

I love Mexican food. I do not always have the time to prepare a homemade Mexican meal or the money to visit my favorite Mexican restaurant. For these times, I try to keep some frozen Mexican meals and dishes on hand. I saw Patio Beef and Bean Burritos at my local grocery store and decided to try them.

The first thing that I noticed about Patio Beef and Bean Burritos was the great price. At my local grocery store, they cost one dollar for three burritos! That is a bargain and excellent deal. Three burritos go a long way. The next thing that I noticed about this product was that it was easy to prepare in the microwave. You place the burrito on a microwave safe plate and cook for a few minutes. After the burrito sits for a minute, it is ready to serve. If you are cooking more than one burrito, it will take a bit longer but, not much more. Two burritos take three to four minutes. Three burritos take six to eight minutes. That is pretty quick, for a frozen item.

Now, if you want to cook this product in the oven, it will take one hour. That was too long for me to even consider trying to oven bake this product. I tried my burrito, after microwaving it and found it to be great! It cooked evenly and was soft. The beans were great, the tortilla was soft and good but, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of beef in this product. I like to add some extra cheese, tomatoes and taco sauce to my burrito. I found that the burrito tasted great that way and went well with all my side dishes. There are many things that I like to serve these burritos with, after trying this product. They go well with refried beans, tortilla chips, taco salads and tacos. Patio beef and bean burritos are great for a quick lunch, a snack or as a part of an entire Mexican meal.

Patio beef and bean burritos come in mild, medium and hot. You can choose your level and get what you like. I tried the medium and was pleased with it. The burrito had just the right amount of red pepper. This product has pinto beans, beef, garlic juice, tomato paste, red peppers, burrito seasoning, spices and a flour tortilla. It contains milk, wheat and soy. The calorie content is three hundred, with ninety of these calories coming from fat. That was not too bad. Total fat is ten grams. These burritos have three grams of saturated fat. The cholesterol is only one percent. That is fantastic! Patio beef and bean burritos have twenty percent of my daily fiber content needed, so that was a nice fact about this product. They also contain Vitamin A, Iron and some calcium. That is quite a buy, for the cost of this product and the ingredients and good value that you get. I was impressed.

I liked almost everything about this product, except that it could have had a better beef content and beef taste. This product was easy to prepare, tasted very good and cost less than a hamburger. I like the variety of patio burritos available. The ease of preparation is what I like best. It also has a great bean flavor and goes so well with many things that I like, such as tacos, salsa and taco salads. Overall, this is a good product and I found it to be of good quality. I will be buying these burritos again and plan to try some of the other Patio frozen foods. The price certainly can’t be beat!
