Make Cash Selling Pine Cone Crafts

Pine Cones

There are tons of ways to make cash, but I’m going to focus this particular article on making and selling pine cone crafts. The pine cones are easy to collect, the crafts are simple to make, and the monetary rewards are great.

All you have to do is devote a little time and energy, and you can make crafts that are adorable and can be sold at a variety of places. But first I’m going to give you a list of supplies you will need before you start.

Craft Supplies

• Glue
• Small Foam Brush
• Glue Gun With Glue Sticks
• Different Size Plastic Eyes
• 1/8 inch Decorative Ribbon (different colors, about one yard for each color)
• 1/4 inch Decorative Ribbon (different colors, about one yard for each color)
• Plywood (start with one 12 inch square piece, until you determine if you like this idea)
• Very Small Tree Branches With Limbs (about 12 inches high, no more than 16 inches)
Spanish Moss
• Sheet Moss
• Glitter (red, green and silver)
• Pine Cones ( all different sizes)

All of the above items can be purchased at a craft store. If you have access to pine trees and oak trees, you can collect your own pine cones and Spanish moss. The plywood would have to come from someplace like Lowes or Home Depot.

The crafts you are going to make are easy and can be finished within the hour. I give it an hour for drying time and for those who may be a little more picky about the lay-out. What you’ll be making are pine cone owls and pine cone Christmas ornaments. We’ll start with the Christmas ornaments first, because they are the easiest. Now let’s make crafts!

Pine Cone Christmas Ornaments

Take some pine cones, they can all be the same size or different sizes, it doesn’t matter. Get your glue and start painting the pine cone. Before the glue dries sprinkle with the red glitter, then lay it aside to dry.

When the pine cone is dry, take a 12 inch piece of the 1/8 inch decorative ribbon, hopefully red or white, and make a loop by hot gluing the ends to the top of the pine cone. Now you have a Christmas tree ornament.

Repeat the same procedure with the other pine cones, using the green and silver glitter. If you want to switch up, you can use the 1/4 inch decorative ribbon, only hot glue one end to the top of the pine cone, group three pine cones together, tie the loose end of the pine cones together to form a bow, and use this on your doors or hanging from arches.

You can use the same principal and make crafts like scented pine cones using ground cinnamon and ginger, Any pine cone decorations you make, will make cash for you. These pine cone crafts are natural, they are beautiful, they are inexpensive to make, and they sell.

Pine Cone Owls

Now on to the pine cone owls. This is very easy. Take three pine cones, one large and two small. Hot glue the eyes onto the large end of the pine cones, not the narrow end. Place them so they resemble owl eyes. Lay them aside to dry. What you have just done is make a mother owl and two baby owls.

Take the very small tree branch, it doesn’t matter if it’s clean or not. The more natural it looks, the better. Hot glue it to the center of the plywood, then let it dry. Place the sheet moss over the plywood and around the base of the tree branch. Just enough to hide the hot glue.

When you have placed the sheet moss where and how you like it, then hot glue this down as well. When everything has dried, start gluing your owls on the limbs of the tree branches. Place them artfully around the tree that has become their home.

When the owls have dried, and are secure to the limbs, start artfully placing the Spanish moss on the limbs and hot glue it in place. Use your imagination and be creative when you do this. Use all natural products, a lot can be collected from outside.

Try different types of branches, maybe one that has a knot hole it in. Use pine needles, leaves, different mosses and pine cones. You don’t have to use plywood, you could mount the branch on a log or anything natural or that looks natural. The less you spend on supplies, the more profit for you.

I read a report that said a man sells more of these than he and his family can make. So now it’s your turn. Put your talent to use and make crafts. The glitter and scented pine cone crafts make lovely pine cone decorations for Christmas, and the pine cone owls can be sold all year long.
