5 Cute and Simple Hairstyles

With our quick and hectic lifestyles, we don’t always have time to spend on that intricate hairstyle we saw a celeb rocking on the red carpet. That doesn’t mean we should settle for drab and frumpy ponytails every day. Here are a few cute and simple hairstyles that will easily turn your hair into your best accessory.

French Braid

The French braid is such a versatile hairstyle; it can go great with any outfit. You can do a straight pulled back French braid to go for a sleek polished look (it always seems very equestrian to me) which is a great look for the office. You can also French braid only your bangs and pull it to the side while letting the rest of your hair down naturally. This is great for a more casual look that’s perfect for the beach or class.

Side Swept Bun

The side swept bun can be thrown together in a matter of minutes and always looks great. Simply pull your hair loosely to one side and wrap it into a loose bun with an elastic. Lightly spray it over with hairspray so that it holds all day and you have a great simple hairstyle. I love to dress mine up with accessories (a wooden hair stick gives a great natural feel).

Beach Waves

If you’re really running low on time, but still want to look fabulous consider going for this hairstyle. The point of beach waves is to look natural so you don’t have to worry about spending extra time making your hair look flawless. Simply spray your hair with a saltwater spray (which can be picked up at any drug store), scrunch, and you’re on your way. Pair it with some neutral tones for a great bohemian look.

High Pony With Volume

If you’d like something a little more sleek and modern, this hairstyle is perfect. To create this easy look, separate a chunk of your hair in the front that you will use to get the volume. Make sure that it’s even on both sides of your part. Pin this section of hair up and out of your way. Take the rest of your hair and pull it into a high ponytail (you can hide the elastic with about a one inch chunk of your hair from the underside of your ponytail if you’d like by wrapping it around the base of the pony and securing it with a bobby pin underneath). Tease the front portion of your hair with a comb and add hairspray as you go. Then pull it all into a high volume bump at the top of your hair, twist and pin in place with bobby pins.

Braided Bun

If you’d like a highly unique look, this braided bun is a great choice. To create it, start by pulling your hair back into a medium height ponytail. Then take some small sections of the pony and braid them. (You want the braids to be as small as possible) Add as many braids as you would like. Twist your hair into a ballerina bun and separate the braids a little so they stand out. Viola, cute and unique hairstyle for any look!
