Curly hair can be difficult to style. Most people think you simply wash and go but that is a big misconception. It takes a lot of time for me to style my curls and make sure they are big, full of volume, and last. Here are 4 great products that have helped my curly hair be manageable.
Frizz Ease Serum
Frizz Ease Serum is one of the greatest allies a curly haired girl can have. It controls frizzies and fly aways. Now most people get frizzy hair in the summer when it is really humid but when you have curly hair, frizzies can come at anytime. It comes in a small bottle and you only use a little right after you wash your hair. It is really important that your hair is pretty wet when you apply it so it can coat your hair and make it stronger. You apply a small amount, rub it through your hair and then style as you normally would. It really helps control the frizzies and lets your wonderful curls come out.
Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo
Curly hair should not be washed too often because the oils and dirt make the curls look better. I have been told by numerous hairdressers that 2 times a week is the most a curly haired girl should be washing their hair. The only problem is sometimes there is product buildup and then what is a girl to do. Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo is the solution. There are other dry shampoos out there but this one smells great and works really well. It is a powder that you apply directly to your roots on your dry hair. You then massage it throughout your hair and voila you have fluffy, clean, bouncy hair. I don’t know how it works so well but it does. My curly hair loves this product.
Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel
Every curly haired girl needs a good gel product for her hair. This one not only works really well it smells amazing. A little gel is all you need to get great curls without they being hard or getting knotty. After a shower add a little gel to you hair after the Frizz Ease and you have 2 products working against the frizz. It is great for touch ups as well. I sometimes wet my hair, place a little gel in my hair and diffuse and 10 minutes later my hair has volume and curls. Besides the smell the best part is it lasts for most of the day without getting flat like so many other gels. This is a great product that not only sculpts curly hair but also prevents frizzies and smells great.
Tresemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse
Mousse is an essential part of a curly haired regime and probably the most important. This is a new product that has been getting a lot of publicity and now I know why. It also smells amazing, doesn’t make your hair weighed down, doesn’t make your hair hard or crunchy, and really works to define curls and volumize hair. While this product isn’t specifically for curly hair I find it works a lot better than most of the mousse products out there that are for curly hair. A small amount after a shower either with gel or in place of gel is all you need to keep your curls in tact. I prefer to use it for touch ups. This mousse is a great product for curly hair and even on dry hair it gives my hair a boost and my curls volume and definition.
